Fans of vehicular combat rejoice, as Vigilante 8 comes to XBLA November 5th. Shacknews has the story, and a trailer (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55211):

Isopod Lab's oft-delayed revival of the long-lost vehicular combat series Vigilante 8 will at long last hit Xbox 360 as a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game on November 5, publisher Activision has announced.

Packing eight-person online multiplayer along with other tweaks, Vigilante 8: Arcade will sell for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). While the original was crafted by Luxoflux, Isopod Labs was formed by veterans from Luxoflux.

I'm surprised they're only charging 800 for this. It was one of my favourite games on PS1.

I played this on N64... it was amazing to me. Great music, cool vehicles, nice weapons.. the Ai was really really bad.. but other than that, it was awesome

Why oh why can't i get a new carmageddon game with guns? vehicular combat games seem to focus almost exclusively on combat between vehicles rather than the sick but undeniable fun of mowing down tons of pedestrians
