So your captain is your hero – your striker. The reason for that was Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong – they’re heroes to us. And so, in the soccer world all the big stars are usually your strikers, and they’re the guys who score your goals and are the poster boys. So it made sense in our game that captains are the strikers – the big guys - so you pick Mario, and he’s going to score most of your goals. He’s the ones that the fans come to see. When the little Koopa girls go home they have posters of him on the wall.
I have no idea how that Wario poster ended up on my wall.

There's a demo out, at EB at least. Pretty fun. I didn't spend much time on it, but seemed to play well. And I won (flattery gets my money, sadly).

Yeah, I'm hoping for the best. I'm one of the few people who has never enjoyed a single Mario sports game (I've always felt Camelot puts too much into translating the Nintendo properties over accurately and they don't focus enough on making the gameplay fun) and I'm hoping this will change the trend.

Not like the fans didn't do that ages ago. Peach could use a personality revamp like Zelda got back in the N64 days though. I was hoping Super Princess Peach for the DS would give her more depth, but though the game looks fun, she still seems kinda vapid. Still not ashamed to admit I'm looking forward to playing as the pink one in Mario Kart DS, though.

Looking at the concept art...I like it's style, of course. But I don't like how Mario is drawn. As one of the prior posters noted - the in-game representation of Mario is not nearly as offensive.

What part of "concept art -may not reflect the final design" did you people fail to understand? That is probably a sketch some artist came up with during design. We can see on the actual game screenshot that mario isn't so hooligan. And BTW, the outfit itself is pretty eurosoccer-like. Nothing really wrong with it (apart from the Bad ass tough guy expression on his face).

Unfortunately, I think nintendo won't let peach look that hot on the game. Wish they would.
