Pretty slick news from Bungie today comes from X3F (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/10/04/bungie-talks-h3-video-renderer-and-fileshare-update/). Soon users will be able to make their videos available through Bungie.net as WMV files. No other specifics have been announced yet, but hey... This is the feature everyone wanted when Halo 3 launched with in-game sharable video clips.

This week's Bungie Weekly Update is an informative doosie, full of information regarding Halo 3 matchmaking changes, double EXP weekends, fileshare changes and a Bungie PRO video renderer. Wait, wah? Video renderer? Oh yes, children, a video renderer.

Team Bungie just announced that in the not too distant future, Bungie PRO subscribers (who pay 750 MS points a year) will have the ability to take their Halo 3 film clips and render them into WMV through Bungie.net. Wowza! Specifics including resolution, how it functions and its rollout haven't been announced yet, but keep your eyes peeled.

The only real drawback is that you've got to be a paid subscriber to Bungie Pro... but hey, this is cool stuff.

I'd say that the only drawback is it's in WMV. They couldn't have done it in Flash like Skate?

Hopefully there'll be the option to save the videos and upload them to YouTube... so they can convert it to flash... but yeah, Skate's video is really well done.

I'd rather upload to something like Wipido or Blip - far better quality.

I can't believe they have people subscribing to Xbox Live AND Bungie Pro to get this stuff. A little redundant, don't you think?

Not odd to see them grubbing for every last dollar, but not something I'll pay for, and I consider myself a Halo fanatic.

I thought Skate was done in WMVs also? Did they upgrade lately? I haven't played since last year.
