A lot of it is still terribly broken and non-functional, but the site has officially launched.

Yeah this thing’s broken for me as well, but it’s not like Perigon didn’t warn us.
I’m glad Nippon Ichi games are doing as well as they are over here, they’re inventive, fun, and a great example of doing more with less, and they're some of the few games out there that have a sense of humor.

Yup, they do make some good games. I have Disgaea and Phantom Brave, gonna try to save up and get Makai Kingdoms soon and maybe buy La Pucelle with Christmas money since I've decided not to use any and all christmas money to upgrade my PC. Now it's HDTV for me!

I looooove disgaea and la pucelle, but so far have not been that impressed with my copies of phantom brave, or makai kingdom. I want to pick up atelier iris, but cant find it cheaper then $50 yet.

I'm glad you're getting and giving a little Japanese love, hombre. I always see your name and think, "Oh great, here's Perigon to shit on JRPGs again." But I'm glad you're enjoying these games (that I have not played!!--time is in short supply. I'm a blasphemous pig, I know).

Atelier Iris is not a SRPG though. It's a traditional RPG, with random encounters. Just wanted to give you a head's up.
Another SRPG is Stella Deus, by Atlus. Think Persona (Shin Megami Tensei) character models mixed with strategy RPGing.

ya I knew it was a straight up rpg with random encounters, but I'm hoping for another squirt of disgaea quality anywhere I can get it...man that game is just so great...may force me to buy a ps3 at launch if a good sequel gets released on it near release.

Okay, good. I was just telling you because bobbler went out and bought the game thinking it was like La Pucelle. Man, was he surprised!
*points at bobbler and laughs

Ahh, I don't hate all Japanese games. Just most J-RPG's, but even that isn't a universal hate. I love me some Suikoden. But Nippon Ichi is now one of my favorite developers, period. I can't wait for Disgaea 2, but they haven't revealed too many details yet.

Oh, I know. Still, if you decide to try out another JRPG in the future, a non-SRPG one, try Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Damn that fucker is good. And tough. And very frigging different. Not to mention borderline Satanic.

I've been meaning to get into that series for quite a while Kelegacy, just haven't gotten around to it quite yet. I really wanted to try their GBC title that they put out a few years back, it was supposed to be like Pokemon with demons :p

Yup, I remember that game. Was it Demikids? Light and Dark versions, I believe, like Pokemon's Silver and Gold, Red and Blue, etc. I hate versions of the same game.
I want to beat Nocturne (not really, it's that good) so I can start SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2. I have too many RPGs and not enough time. I hate Father Time...he's more abusive than any dad should rightfully be.
As far as I'm concerned, Atlus has taken the mantle of best RPG publisher/developer from Square. Hell, they stole that crown years ago.
