Interested in voice communication through your Wii? Shacknews is reporting (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55060) that come November 16th, a Wii Speak channel will allow you to communicate with members of your address book outside of games.
Wii users will be able to engage in online voice chat outside of games beginning November 16, Nintendo of America has revealed.
The Wii Speak Channel will be free to anyone who purchases the upcoming $30 Wii Speak microphone, which sits on top of one's television and enables voice communication for games such as Animal Crossing: City Folk.
Represented in Wii Speak by their Miis, players will be able to share photos with one another while chatting.
The photo sharing aspect of this is pretty neat, but I can't bring myself to buy another add-on for my Wii.

<----- getting really tired of peripherals.
Is Wii speak will be bundle with Animal Crossing?
This will be a nice add-on for the Wii. One chance for agentgray Nintendo don't force us to buy it.

Its a $30 add on for the Wii by itself. I do not believe that it will be bundled with Animal Crossing: City Folk.

seconded with extreme prejudice. Also, just because it's optional doesn't make it any less tiring to some of us.

I seem to remember them saying it would be packed in with Animal Crossing during the E3 press conference. Though since they're offering it separately it seems they may have changed their mind.

I thought there was going to be a bundle as well. The price was somewhere around $70 for AC and WiiSpeak.

IGN interview:
[IGN: Sounds good, but you're also packing WiiSpeak with Animal Crossing, right?
Cammie Dunaway: We are going to do a limited edition bundle with Animal Crossing that will run for $59.99 and will come out on the 16th as well. ]
Seems a nice price. About the peripherals, this one can be really useful to online games, it's not like all the plastic shell we got.

Got a link to that interview Zaro? -$20 for the game plus Wii Speak isn't too bad of a deal. I'm on the fence about getting City Folk however, after AC:DS was the exact same game as the original AC... but with less fun and less (read: no) NES ROMs.
