Quick Monday Blues (at work at the moment and quite busy). Monday sucks, what did you guys play? Cheers!

For me, Wipeout HD, Disgaea 3, bit of MM9 and of course the LBP beta (which rocks)

All I got to this weekend was Rock Band 2, and about 20 minutes of playtime for my replay of Max Payne.

Well, I picked up used copies of Beyond Good & Evil ($4.00) and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time ($10.00) from a local game store, after consuming some awesome fair food from my town's annual fair. It's already packed up, so no more deep fried twinkies or blooming onions until next year.

Overall, it was a pretty good weekend, and the two games I got are awesome. It is, however, bullshit that BG&E isn't backwards compatible on the 360.

I played a good amount of Rock Band 2, as well as some Witcher.. finally got to Chapter 1 in that.

I got some Gears of War in and I was going to get to Disgae 3 but never had the time. Menage, I've only put about 4 hours into D3 so far and I've enjoyed it so far...what's your take on the game?

I was a HUGE fan of Disgae 1 and 3 seems like a good fit for the franchise.

10 Hours in, and it's pretty much all that I expected it to be, more of the same with some added extras. the classroom dynamic is pretty cool though, and the story is more whackjob than 2 again. I especially like all the little otaku and videogame references in there. Makes it feel more like a parody than a serious story.

Alos, as with previous versions, I always have the feeling I'm missing out something obvious in the powerlevelling dep. cause I can't see to get it done no matter what. Is there a way to do this without using a glitch (cause I know there are glitch ways, but that seems cheating)

Rock Band 2 and Mario Kart Wii with visiting family. Also borrowed Boom Blox from my brother. Best physics engine in a puzzle game ever. Lots of fun.

WipEout HD and FFXI. More FFXI, though. I did a ton of quests in FFXI, including finishing the WotG storyline to where they've left it at this point. There's some very good cutscenes there. WipEout HD is, of course, fucking awesome.

Hardly anything. One online game of C&C3:Kanes Wrath, and I lost. :(

PLANNED

WAR and Civ IV: Colonization. I'd be playing Kings Bounty: The Legend, as well, but Amazon can't figure out a way to ship games one day after their release date instead of two.

ACTUAL

Just a couple hours of WAR on Friday night, and nearly finished reading the manual for Civ IV: Colonization (never played the original). Girlfriend hogged the PC for 6 straight hours Saturday and another 6 straight hours Sunday. :(

I got 3 ringed this weekend, second time same time of year. So I played about 2 levels of LEGO Batman and now the question is do I need to move my Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 pre-orders to PS3 and hope to God it's fixed for Left 4 Dead.

I played just a little Civ IV and started playing Civ IV: Colonization. My first game of Colonization was totally messed up (didn't play it all the way through). By my second, I'm getting a little more used to how the different resources and buildings work. I need to spend some time over on CivFanatics (http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=314), getting educated. And/or reading the manual.

I felt the same way in Disgaea 1, like I was missing out on a game mechanic that made levelling a lot easier than it was for me. In D1 I later learned the extreme importance of the Item World, you get extremely rare items and can also level up weapons and characters alike. I haven't made it far enough in D3 to see if the same holds true.

The quirky aspects of this game are the charm for me! The story line is insanely random :D and the graphics are old school but it still holds my attention.

The classroom mechanic hasn't become clear to me yet?!?!? I haven't gotten very far in the game though, so I'm hoping that becomes a bit easier to grasp the point of later on.

I barely got any Warhammer online time. I spent a great majority of my time with Wipeout HD.

Played a little GTA IV, some Burnout and watched my kids battle it out in Smash Bros Brawl. Outside of sitting in front of the TV, I ran a 5k Saturday (went pretty well) and then attended a deployment ceremony Sunday afternoon.

I ended up playing quite a bit of Burnout Paradise and Wipeout HD. Until Saturday night that is, when Lost Odyssey came in from Gamefly. I've been itching for a good JRPG for a few weeks now and this scratches the itch just fine.

I finished the Darkness and then went out and rented Force Unleashed. I am having a lot more fun with Force Unl. than I expected, especially based on the reviews. Something about flinging dudes around and using lightning that has not gotten old yet, and I think I am on the last level.

The Darkness (X360): I'm LTTP on this one. I don't know why I didn't play back when it was released, especially since I loved Riddick. I'm on the 4th chapter and absolutely love it. It looks stunning, both technically and artistically. The weird story is told in an awesome way and the gameplay is pretty amazing with the powers you get.

WipeOut HD (PS3): I was afraid the difficulty would kill this game for me, but so far it's not impossible. The game is really fun and the production values are great.

LittleBigPlanet Beta (PS3): This game has more charm than....eh...pretty much any other title. The game is filled with creativity and great ideas. Still, I don't know if it's a game for me. The gameplay isn't as awesome as the rest of the game and finding good user created levels isn't that easy IMHO. I'll probably buy it and play it from time to time and when I hear about some awesome level a user has created.

I finally beat Star Wars:TFU, and started a new game immediately. Played a lil Rock Band 2 with the wife and a friend. I neglected NHL 09 though... shame on me.

I did manage to get through the RB2 endless setlist on expert bass, but just barely. Song 82 of 84 (Visions by Abnormality) almost destroyed my life. Hardest bass part ever!

So, I guess you liked it? I also started a new game as soon as I beat it. I had sooo much fun, but I guess it's because I'm a huge Star Wars fan and this is exactly the kind of game I've been waiting for.

PS3:
Burnout Paradise

360:
NHL 09
- still can't decide on which player I want to Be A Pro at, so I'm just cycling through a goalie, def, and right winger. All have their entertainment value :)

PC:

Lots of TF2
- getting better at demoman and scout finally :)

Some Dark Messiah of Might & Magic
- still get my ass kicked...this is a tough game, or I'm just not playing it right :(

Lots of Dwarf Fortress.
- perfect game to having running in the background while I work on an hobby program.

Lego Batman on my DS.

I planned on playing Tales of Vesperia, but I came across a Game Revolution review for de Blob, and decided to give it a shot. I think I've found something wonderful: A kids' game with communist undertones! It's an overtly relevant allegory of the McCarthy era brought to life in colorful, beautiful, paint blobs. At one point, you are referred to as "Comrade Blob."

I never thought I'd like a THQ game... and I guess I was right: I love this one! :)

Played a fair amount of WAR. Made my first talisman for my Gobbo shaman.

Progressed quite a bit into chapter one of The Witcher. I think I've hit the "Sucked In" point in this game. Can't wait till night time when the monsters come out! I need to find some torches for the Crypt.

I, also, am making a mess of my first Colonization game. :p

I spent most of the weekend either screwing up history with Time Hollow, racing online and off with wipEout HD or killing demon thingies in Persona 3.

I also spent a tiny bit of time installing Steam and downloading some games onto my newly fixed laptop but I don't think it's really geared for gaming. Uplink was making it chug at times... UPLINK! So yeah... I think it'll be my Fallout 1 & 2 machine for the time being.

But Persona 3 ate up most of my time. It's sad to say, but I'm kind of glad my 360 died when it did so that I was forced to actually focus on Persona 3. It's fantastic.

Finished Eternal Darkness. Well, didn't 'finish' finish, but I made it to the end (did some research after the final cutscene). Quite good, but I will not be continuing.
I guess I'll have to dust off Zack&Wiki for next weekend; money's a little tight.

I played a lot of STFU, my biggest complaint is that it feels uneven, parts are excellent, but some levels feel really drab and uninspired with no really involving set-pieces or enemies.

When it works, I think it's rather excellent and the story and cut-scenes are great.

Played though some more of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. Then I rented a copy of Armored Core: For Answer...not that great.

But someone already traded in a copy of Disgaea DS already so I'm having some fun with that.
