Stardock Entertainment sends along word that they have released their downloadable strategy title, Tribal Trouble (http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/?id=trib).

Stardock Entertainment has added the real-time strategy game Tribal Trouble to its online game-distribution system, TotalGaming.net. In Tribal Trouble, a gang of Viking raiders is lost on the high sea following their latest successful pillaging trip, soon finding themselves stranded on a small group of tropical islands. The Vikings’ decision to remain on the island draws the ire of the island natives and a raucous battle ensues.

Tribal Trouble is a fast-paced real-time strategy game, in which gamers will lead their somewhat clueless kinsmen to new discoveries and victories as tribal clashes rage across a group of tropical islands. Players will take the role of Vikings or island natives as they fend off their opponents in single-player modes or in exciting online multiplayer battles.

Developed by Denmark-based Oddlabs, Tribal Trouble features single-player skirmish, single-player campaign and multiplayer modes, an endless supply of unique computer-generated islands, massive battles with up to six players and 900 tribesmen at once and much more.

Tribal Trouble can be purchased for $29.95 standalone or through a TotalGaming.net membership at the discounted price of 3 tokens ($20.98 equivalent). Fore more information, visit http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/?id=trib.

Sounds interesting! I'm on a tight budget as I stockpile some money for a new system, but it does sound refreshingly straight forward and exciting.

Kinda nice to see Stardock getting some more developers onto their system. It's hard to say whether electronic distribution will be the way of the future for games. Steam and Stardock are here but I think the fact that the US ranks so low in broadband penetration isn't helping things. Also I think many developers are scared to go with them for fear of getting dumped by the big distirbution agencies.

I really long for the old days of shareware :P
