By me! :) I played the first game a ton multiplayer. I even had it running on my old gaming server for months and months.

I loved the original. Gamespot didn't think highly of the sequel though. I'll pick it up when it hits $29.99 like I did the original. By then the framerate issues will be worked out, the netcode will be improved. All that good stuff (Just like with teh original)

Evil is FNF ever coming back? and can we start with Mechwarrior 4 HD? :P
I saw the trailer and it looked kinda bad.
Urban combat instead of the jungle-theme and no improvement in the gfx since the first. They did make a good game with the first and created a cool atmosphere with the music and nice story-telling.
Perhaps the 2nd has an alright story to go along?
The trailer showed an old-style shooter, but after F.E.A.R. I need something more.I also played SS2 and it is well done - I just don't like that kinda mindless gameplay anymore.
For me F.E.A.R. was a paradigm shift in FPS gaming (for some HL2 was) and I cannot look back.

The original was great. The AI was more than adequate, making for some really sweet firefights. Multiplayer Capture the Flag was also nice.
But yeah, they're releasing this at a really bad time of the year...too many games.

This should have came out before F.E.A.R., Quake 4, and Call Of Duty 2, releasing along side CoD2 was a bad idea.

I suspect it has something to do with the game's ageing technology...if they waited any longer, the game would look even worse. I think that's why DNF is stuck on an Infinite Loop. ;)

HL2 was for me, but if there was no HL2 FEAR would of had a similar effect.

What happened is that for the last couple of years (has it really been that long???) I've been working on Friday nights and my job kind of takes it out of me so most of the time on my days off I haven't been up for playing games online most of the time. (I still play a lot of single player stuff.)
The FNF server itself is getting a little long in the tooth, but I've got a 2.4 Ghz Intel laptop that I wanted to add 512 MB of RAM to and use as a server.
I'm going to have Sunday nights off starting in two weeks.
Sunday Night Fights? Or perhaps we will just meet up on Xbox Live?

Granted, I just played the demo, but what was so special about F.E.A.R.? The horror stuff (seeing things that weren't there, etc...) had been done in Undying and the slow-mo stuff had been done in Max Payne. I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, I would just like to know what was so different about it.

I remember charging into a room twice, and on the 2nd time the dude wasn't in there, he kicked out the window and went outside. Granted he was outside doing nothing, but it was pretty refreshing. Undying was wide open, this is clusterfu*k.

I think it's really really satisfying killing people and the lighting and physics add a ton to gun battles. But no, I don't think it stacks up to everything HL2 pulls off. Still a great game though.

Good deal, i'm ready. The first game was fun CTF and Co-op. I played the campaign through the end. It had dense jungles and foliage before Far Cry (slightly overrated beast). If there is anything to complain about this early is that the Vietcong 2 polygons could suffer from the engine but I think the modelers are good at skinning, though I haven't seen the screenshots in a while.
Edit: Part 1 was the best Vietnam FPS game ever made and right now part 2 wouldn't have any competition unless you dig BF Vietnam. I didn't.
