Team17 Working on Alien Breed Remake

No longer slave to its garden variety artillery game, Team17 has pledged to revisit its classic Amiga series, Alien Breed...

We're speculating that Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, and PC are the likely targets, with WiiWare a distant possibility. "We're doing it with a budget far in excess of anything that has been spent anywhere on a digital title to date," Brown reportedly said. Alien (the New) Breed is expected for release within the next 12 months.

Good to see their talent being used for something other than further milking of the over saturated Worms games. I look forward to hearing more about this project.

This is excellent news! The Breed games were great and I hope this will hold up well in today's market. You gotta wonder about the pricing though with that budget statement?

I don't know...I enjoyed the Alien Breed games back in the day, but I replayed one of them in the late 90s and I really didn't feel it had aged well at all. But then again: this sounds like a new game, so it could be great.

The Amiga has a treasure trove of awesome games that are just begging to be updated and ported! This is great news from a great developer!

Now give me Shadow of the Beast Amiga version on XBLA! Let's see how many of today's hardcore can handle THAT little challenge.

I loved that game, even though I played the Genesis port instead since the Amiga wasn't very popular in the states. In fact, they should just port the entire trilogy.

Alien Breed was an awesome game, and the sequel was even better. Can't wait to see what they'll do with this.

Ah the memories. In the present I could handle some kind of Alien Breed RPG or Jagged Alliance/Alien Breed style crossover.
