Postal has become the latest game to be made into a movie by Uwe Boll.

Postal is perhaps the most outrageous and politically incorrect game ever to be released. On its release back in 1997 it was made the poster child for violent videogames by Senator Joe Lieberman and as a result was removed from sale at retailers across America. Since then the game has gone on to sell over a million units worldwide and has gathered a cult following in America as well as being a success in Japan and Russia. Postal 2 was also a great success and has spawned several add-ons.

Software company Running With Scissors has today announced that it has signed a deal with Uwe Boll to bring Postal to the big screen.

more proof that these people don't care about quality or art, all they care about is making money. Seriously, the industry needs to quit protecting these people and making excuses for them.

Ladies and gentlemen, I can now reveal what I've suspected all along:

Perigon = Dr. Uwe Boll.

Why wont game companies learn that Uwe Boll is the devil?

I think the quality of the game befits the good Dr. Boll. This has a good likelyhood of being The Worst Movie Ever.

I will be there opening night.

It was rumored, and Running With Scissors denied it. Guess they changed their mind.

Who cares. How could they even remotely make a decent movie based off of the Postal series? I say I haven't seen a match better than this. They totally deserve one another.
Throw in Ben Affleck and it would be perfect.

cos we've already established it's Perigon, lucifer just does his accounts.

Having not yet seen it, is the Doom movie a better attempt than a Uwe Boll movie? Although thinking about that sentence, I don't think it would take much effort to make a better movie than Uwe Boll.

Let him make Postal. It will keep him away from other good IPs like Doom.

Oh, wait....

Some would say yes, but not me. Uwe Boll's movies are at least entertainingly bad. Doom was just boring.

Guys, it's a movie based on Postal. It's not like he's doing a movie on a beloved franchise (like Halo or Final Fantasy).

Why doesn't Jack Thompson go after this guy? ;) He seems to focus on the more violent games.

A franchise of such quality that not even Dr. Uwe Boll can drag it down... the mind reels.

seems to me Uwe is the perfect choice to make a Postal movie. perhaps this will kill two birds with one gigantic, burning stone, smashing both flat.

Unlikely, Uwe Boll makes money, and Uwe Boll will keep making movies as lnog as he makes money.

However, apparently the "The Producers"-eque tax loophole that allows him to make money from shit movies is being closed in Janurary 2006, will this mean no more Boll movies?

I wonder if this is a massive joke by Running With Siscors, as they are counting on Uwe Boll to make a horrible movie.

I for one am excited. I've always loved to see Uwe Boll's clever and insightful view of games I've played. Only once in a generation does a visionary like this come to film making. Usally their skills are squandered on things like science or mathematics.

I'm telling you, the studio get's a huge kick back for letting the mental retarded and cripples make movie. Uwe Boll is perfect.

How is it that Tim Schafer's games don't even make enough money to warrant a 30-second animated cartoon, but Postal gets turned into a movie directed by Uwe Boll, which is basically like setting a million dollars on fire? America, WTF?!

Just to clarify...

Uwe Boll != America
Running with Scissors =! America
Uwe Boll && Running with Scissors < America

Yeah, this is what I was going to say. I enjoyed the postal games, (well the demos anyway), but it's CERTAINLY not something beloved to me.

Come to think of it, I never really played House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne, or Dungeon Siege either.

(If it's true that Boll makes a FarCry movie, though, I may cry for days on end.)

I'm forced to admit I really liked the first Postal game. It was evil, but had a decent sense of humor about it. The second one, not so much. Don't really understand why a movie seems like a good idea.

My biggest question is, who goes to these Uwe Boll movies? They are universally reviled. Please make the bad man stop.

My bullshit-detector is going off right now. There was talk about this a few months ago, and RWS said that it was just Uwe Boll wanting to do it. I'll wait for this news to be mentioned on a few more sites before I believe this one...

Gamespot just picked up the story.

Were today April 1, I might be inclined to believe it's bullshit. Sadly, according to my work calendar today is "United Nations Day", which doesn't quite provoke the same sense of trickery and chicanery. Regardless - a "Postal" movie, directed by Uwe Boll, whether it's real or not, is still a steaming pile of dog turds, and any movie company who gives it a green light deserves whatever Jack Thompson throws at them.

Ok ok... If you had slight faith in the guy be prepared to lose it again.

http://www.bloodrayne-themovie.com/trailer.html

Lesson one, actors shouldn't like games. They are blindly picking crappy game movies just cause they play 20 minutes of anything in a trailer. The Rock liked Doom and look at how he Doomed it. Not his fault. Games and movies don't match, switched one way or the other.
