Finally, it's available to the public: the official Paraworld website (http://www.paraworld.com/)! Offering information on the gameplay, units, the interface, the story as well as new footage. Of course, more information will be added in the future. The PC strategy game will ship next spring. If you got any further questions, don't hesitate to head over to our forum (http://www.sek-ost.de/forum/index.php). You're always welcome!

Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious. :P The "our forum" part wasn't obvious enough?

Not really, some flashing bold text saying "Press release and an Ad" would have helped the obviousness... :D
Oh, and the screens look really nice, though I wish there was a shot of the HUD.

Well... if I can have an army of dinosaurs tear things up, it sounds cool. Just add in zombies and everyone will love the game.

You're pimping, which I have no problem with here. But at least do it like a press release or a "neutral" post. It just comes across as cheesy.
I think the game looks good and has an interesting concept. I'd like to give it a try. Dinosaurs are almost like pirates, ninjas, and zombies.

Sorry, but "neutral" would have been misleading, wouldn't it? Kind of like "oh look what website I just found". I'm working for the SEK and I'm not sure why us mentioning the new website is worse than other websites mentioning that they've got some new feature or screenshots here. And considering my history with this site, I didn't want to post a simple PR.

At first I just posted this to the forums because of the obvious pimpage. Then I found out the Julian is actually a long time EA reader (he was under another name before) so I let it slide to the front page.

I have no problem. Like I said, I look forward to the game. Unique in a world of rehashes.
I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill. I'll stop. Sorry about the drum beating. :D
Because I brought it off-topic, I'll try and bring it back on:
I saw the mention of titans. What are they going to offer over regular units? Basically, what do they do? Does it work similar to the titans in Age of Mythology? or the heroes in Warcraft 3?
Do you guys have a publisher?
Will there be a beta (drool)?

They're simply the strongest unit each tribe has to offer. Large amount of HP, some of them featuring several mounted guns and whatnot. They're also considerably larger, which makes it simply more fun to show up on the battlefield. Not to mention special moves.
or the heroes in Warcraft 3?
There also are hero units in the game ( != titans) which have special moves, techtree extensions and a global tribe bonus depending on how far they get promoted. But it's going to be less micromanagement compared to a title like WC3.
Do you guys have a publisher?
Europe's already covered (Sunflowers, Deep Silver, Novui Disk), but it probably won't take that long anymore for a US deal to be signed.
Will there be a beta (drool)?
Yes. Probably closed, but that's not set in stone yet.

Dont make the same mistake with heros err titans like wc3 did. Dont let them be too strong and over powering.

Again, heroes != titans. Titans are the strongest animal units the tribes have. Heroes are a different type of unit with different effects on the gameplay. You're not required to use them, but they spice up the gameplay as they have some effects on a tribe's techtree. Basically, you could get a hero for the sole purpose of benefiting from whatever tech bonus he has without actually using the hero itself.
Dinosaurs are almost like pirates, ninjas, and zombies.
Who said we don't have ninjas or pirates in the game as well? :P

So what is this game doing that's new? Honestly I haven't been interested in any RTS game released or announced in quite some time, because they all seem to be ripoffs of Rise of Nations, Warcraft 3, or Dawn of War. I have those games. I don't need them again with different looking units. :p
That was my main complaint with Age of Empires 3 (that and the buggy demo), hence why I didn't bother buying it, even though I loved the 2nd game and logged many, many hours into it. It just felt like Rise of Nations to me, only not as good.

Apart from the setting Paraworld featured a very nifty interface concept. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but having as much control over and access to your units really makes a difference. I haven't seen a tester who didn't immediatly dig the concept upon first contact. Hard to explain, but sooner or later you'll get to try it out on your own anyway - either via beta or demo. :) It'll be easier to elaborate on that once we put some samples online.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for the demo then.
