Blue's News is reporting (http://bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=61285) that someone has scanned the last page of the Age of Empires art book (included with the Collector's Edition of Age of Empires III) and posted it to the Age of Emipres III Heaven Forums (http://aoe3.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=st&fn=1&tn=25506&f=1,25506,0,10&st=0). The image shows a possible Age of Empires IV and V, with IV represented by a Vietnam era soldier and V a Science Fiction trooper.

Can anyone working or know anyone working for Ensemble confirm or make any comments on this?

I can confirm that the image is indeed on the last page of the artwork book. Other than that, I'm almost willing to bet that ES isn't going to disclose details this soon after release regarding two more games (especially the fifth one).

Unfortunatly I am not at liberty to discuss any projects that we may or may not have in the works here at ensemble studios...

but all I have to say is this...

the red dove flies first at midnight

Do one thing for me Fandango, when you do make 5, port the other 4 games into 5's engine, chances are the original AoE won't play on Windows 2010 or whatever. In that way you'd have an uber game, most of the work is done anyway, just needs new art and scripting.

AOE I-V making a full anthology would be really awesome. One problem the people over in other boards haven't taken in to consideration is the importance of diplomacy on today's society and the un-importance of diplomacy in this game. But as I've recently figured out, I have every Age product (except for the newest, too cheap) so I'll probably end up with this one and future installments. So long as they keep me coming back with good music, nice maps and empire building, I'm a fan...

Ensemble would be remiss if they did not have long term goals for the series.
Its a concept image, nothing more. Sure it shows a possible sequel, or they could go lateral with a fantasy rts (Mythology sequel).

But in the game, your soilders don't collect resources, your villiagers did. And where the soilders do collect resources in the game, it reflects a certain speciality about that unit. (same goes for building-able soilder units)

My name is Beechutoodeth Witmeyerboner. Funny story actually, my mother is Tanzinian and my father is a German Jew. Hence the name... oh the stories I could tell. And as for your second question I am the lead programmer and head co-ordinator of boner physics here at Ensemble. As the matter of fact I have handled all boner physics since the very first Age of Empires game!

I thank you for your enthusiasm regarding my and my fellow co-workers products. I probobly should'nt be saying this as everything is not quite finalized, but at Ensemble we are going to be implementing an online community outreach program very soon. We are looking for suitable cantidates for internship positions from forums just like these. Remember, if you want to work with some of the most advanced and realistic boners in the entire video game industry, you know the man to come to!

Wow, that's really cool! And I thought you were new or something because I had never heard of you, silly me. I guess you came up with the villager's boner concept too? That's great. I loved doing villager rushes and boning the enemey to death in the first game. It's too bad the big bone the villagers used in the first game was taken out of the other ones. I stopped doing villager rushes after that. I really missed the grunting sounds they made when they boned the town center, too. Oh well. The other games are good too, just missing that specialness. *sighs*

Yeah, umm I'm pretty sure this is just an illustration of the "Ages" that these "Empires" go through. See how it starts with say roman soldiers then knights, musketmen, vietnam era soldiers and then space? I'm pretty sure this is how they leveled up in Age of Empires II complete with roman numerals.

If they did a AOE in the 1850-1970 time gape. I'm guessing if they had something to do with nam. Your men and resources would probably just be air dropped or something in general units called supply or something, like in C&C.
