It's back! Finally part 3 of my Gaming Mice Reviews series is up. This week I take a look at the Copperhead, the latest and greatest 2000DPI mouse from Razer (http://www.razerzone.com). How did it fair up against the Diamondback (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5212&highlight=gaming+mice) and MX518 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5415&highlight=gaming+mice)?

The mouse is a fairly light mouse, though it’s not quite as light as the Diamondback. For those of you who like a heavier mouse there is an optional weighting package (The Razer Pro-Tools) that can be purchased. This is all well and good except that by using the Razer Pro-Tools you void your mouse’s warranty. Let me say that again, by using Razer’s Pro-Tools product on Razer’s mouse you void your warranty. That is like buying a new car, and buying a different set of tires from the dealer and voiding the cars warranty.
You can find the full review in our forums. (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=117905#post117905)

Nice review Bap! Sorta sucks that the profile feature didn't pan out so well. If it was easy to switch between two profiles it'd be great for me, since my girlfriend who regularly uses my computer gets annoyed at how "fast" my mouse moves.

Oh, and who needs a warranty when using the Pro-Tools, just think of the pretty blue light o.0

Hrm, looks like the Diamondback is the one for me then.

I bought the Logitech G5(the other 2000 DPI mouse out there), which is pretty decent. The grips on it are plastic rather than the rubber on the MX1000 and they changed it from two buttons on the side to a single button, which makes no sense to me and is easily the greatest shortfall. The wire is more flexible and doesn't catch since it's braided and I find it pretty funny that I own a mouse where you modify the weight of it, I just keep it as light as possible though.

Great review, if I ever go back to the Dark Side of input devices it seems the MX518 would be my choice.

Nice review! You know, I never would have thought of buying a specific 'gaming' mouse until I started reading your reviews of them. They just seemed so...unnecessary, especially given that I've had no issues with my Microsoft optical jobby. Now I face a dilemma - buy a gaming mouse or buy the Windows version of the Xbox 360 pad. After all, if I want to be considered a hardcore gamer, I really should shell out on the products that are geared towards the hardcore.

Damn you!

I only bought the G5, and before that the mx510, because I don't like my MX1000 wireless mouse for FPS gaming. Whether it's the weight or something else, I just prefer a wired mouse.

For everything else I will say, without any doubt, the MX1000 is the best mouse ever made, in my opinion.

I'm kinda with ba on this. I had high hopes for this mouse, but it generally just wasn't for me. That's not to say it isn't a quality piece of equipment though, becuase it really is. Well built, solid, and smooth.
Just not for me.

Everyone complains that the G5 lost a button but it gained a tilt wheel which is effectivly two more buttons. I am going to try it out this weekend and decide if it is worth buying, plus its weights don't affect the warranty. The G7 is supposed to be the new MX1000, will see how that pans out.

I've been using a Viper since it came out (I preordered it, so it came to my door. It was neat) and before that I had been using a Boomslang for many a years, trying my hardest to defend myself as others switched to opticals. At first, I missed my side buttons, but now I don't even really notice, as I've just adapted my left hand, so it's good.

I don't really want to upgrade to the Diamondback, even though it's pretty, but I'm a huge fan of Razer. Kudos!
