Via 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3169671).
The official opening of Penny Arcade Expo 2008 is still a few hours away, but we were able to sit down with Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik to discuss various and sundry PA-related things. Notably, they dropped the news that their next big project -- a second yearly Penny Arcade Expo set on the East Coast -- is slated to debut in Boston in 2010. The new PAX, which will complement rather than replace the existing Seattle event, is still in the planning stages, but the duo has been determined to return to the city since delivering a presentation at MIT a few years ago.
I'll be there like shareware.

As a NYC resident, getting to Boston is cake. Sweet. Just let me know the dates and I'll buy a 2010 calendar now and mark them.

That's great news for anyone on that side of the country. As for me and my fellow Central Time Zoners, let's just keep our fingers crossed for Pax:Dallas 2012!

Fantastic! I wanted to go to PAX this year but I just couldn't justify airfare to get to the West coast. I've even got friends in Boston that I could stay with. Bonus!

Hmm... I think I might be able to make it to this. Boston's a bit of a hike but not nearly the hike that it is to Seattle.

At this point we may be able to rent an entire car (or 2) on an Amtrak just for the EvAv people in the North East Corridor.

I'll be there. I'm only in NJ (I can take a 5min trip to the bay and see Long Island/NYC/etc). Probably just take the train up there.

Some rough estimates using Google Maps:
Seattle: 1600 miles
Boston: 1800 miles
Dallas: 1200 miles
Yeah, I'm not close to anything. (Not that I think they'll be adding a another new PAX in the next few years anyway...)

Only a $22 train ride from Albany (at today's prices), so I should be able to go.

Aww yeah--I could take the train down, or even drive. So yeah, I'm down too. And we can all catch a Red Sox game at Fenway. Or not, since Fenway prices are ridiculous. But it's a ballpark every hardcore baseball fan has to experience at least once.
Then again, this is about geeks attending a videogame convention, so who gives a shit, right. :)

Anyone living in Quebec and Ontario can easily make this. Any fellow Canucks interested in putting together a Canadian contigent? If so, hit me up and I'll get the list started.:D

They haven't announced a time of year, right? It may be outside of baseball season... and into hockey or football... Foxboro is only 40 outside of Boston.
But you're right, who cares about that... no time for sports.

I refuse to walk into the Patriots stadium. I would ever only go into there IF, and only IF, the Giants were playing them.

I tried to get a job once at the Wal-Mart distribution center in Johnstown. I think I was WAAY to smart for them. I think my interviewers were confused by my big words, like safety.

Damn, I'm only 10 minutes away from the Seattle one, but I love Boston, and I'm always a bit envious of the whole road-trip PAX experience. It just doesn't seem the same when you can walk to it.

I'm hoping for some Texas love, Dallas, Houston(nerdgasm!) or even Austin would work well. Oh well one of these years I'll just save up and go, dragging the lady with me of course.

As great as this sounds, there is really no way they could have the same content as the other PAX so one will indeed be worse. If anything, I think this makes the decision to go to PAX even harder.

You people and your goddamm "coasts". I tell you what. I'm going to have a Mountain States PAX, in a shed, in the middle of the woods.

I'm sure it will be far enough away from PAX Classic in terms of timing that people can do both.

To this day, I'm unware of them ever being in Chicago. Except maybe for a lay-over.
