Sniper Elite Hints & Tips

Xbox.ign.com has posted a new feature article, Sniper Elite: Top 10 Sniping Mechanics (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/657/657772p1.html), giving ten written and video tips for Namco's upcming WWII Xbox title, Sniper Elite.

I did not care about the game before, but one of the tips involves moving bodies and another is for setting tripmines.

Too bad I am busy with FEAR.

The game is reasonably decent. It's kind of a like Splinter Cell meets Hidden and Dangerous, except it's not executed nearly as well as the other two. You're supposed to rely on tactics and long-range sharpshooting, but your enemies (almost all armed with sub-machine guns) shoot back at you (and hit frequently) from just as far, so. Tactics work for the first shot, and then after that it's all reminescent of Counter-Strike from there.

The bullet physics and bullet POV is quite enjoyable, though. It's immensely satisfying to see your bullet travel 200 yards and then slam into a soldier's face, causing a chunk to fly off.

All in all, there are better games to spend money on than Sniper Elite.
