Bethesda has sent out an official press releasing finalizing the date for Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms. Expect to see the game on store shelves on October 28th of this year.
Also, get it while the getting is good on the limited Survival Edition (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53439) which includes some pretty swanky stuff including this Pip Boy Clock (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html/ref=amb_link_7000942_2?location=http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/videogames/features/pip_boy_3000.jpg&token=957BBB0669152D76BE1C614537975585163C1748&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_r=0A89V5RW9CE7NDDC279P&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=408334101&pf_rd_i=B0017QFX30).
What is your platform of choice?

Normally I'd go with the PC as my platform of choice but my PC is now old and I've gotten used to playing games on the couch with surround sound. I have the 360 and PS3 but I think I'm going to go with the 360 just because of the potential to increase the game's duration with DLC.
Hmm platform... PS3 probably since my xbox has died twice already and makes alot of noice.

Editor and Mod support, considering how Oblivion was made into a much better game experience by using community mods, ill be playing it on the PC for sure.

Going with the 360 version myself. This seems like a great game to chase achievements in.
I actually submitted a news post about this yesterday but it apparently got ignored because it was just Amazon shifting the ship date from 10/7 to 10/29, which to me was a 100% sure sign that the game was delayed. Nice to see they didn't wait forever to get an official press release out though.

Eventually I'll have the regular edition for the PS3. That probably won't be til next year, but I'll get it some time.

All things being equal I usually get multiplatform games on PS3 cause I like to be able to hear the sound.

I am still not sure I'm getting it. I love Fallout, but Bethesda hasn't made a single game I've enjoyed. And Eurogamer's preview made it sound pretty mediocre. Will be waiting for reviews on this one.

I've pre-ordered a copy for the PC, gotta give my Magic PC some use :D. (Mod support is my main driving factor. Since my gaming comp is no longer hooked up to my TV it would be nice to play it on the 360 for 1920x1080 play but oh well).

PC, when I get it. But I hope to still be playing Fable 2 by the time it comes around, so I'll probably be putting off Fallout for a bit.

I'm pretty sure Fallout for the PS3 will have an install and the 360 version will have an optional install as well so the drive noise shouldn't be a factor.

Ill probably get it for both PC and 360 as that is what I did with Oblivion.

Ah well. Sucks that it's coming out later than expected. More time to play Spore, I guess. I'll be getting it for 360, as it will run better there than on my PC.

It's pretty safe to say that with any Bethesda game it's better on PC. And really, it doesn't cost much to have a decent game PC these days. I run a 4400+/2G/8800GTS(G92) and the only game I haven't been able to play at/near full details is Crysis.

I definitely plan on picking it up for the PC -- hopefully mine can handle it. I'd play it on my 360, but I hate aiming with a controller... Plus, I like modding :)
I may end up waiting a while for it though... There are a lot of games coming out this fall that I want(Spore, Fable 2, WAR, WotLK, various other console RPGs), but I'm moving in the next few weeks and may not have much cash for gaming. I should probably focus on what I have now(I have a couple 360 games that I still haven't played through), and just get Spore to play until X-mas.

360, mostly for the achievements, but also because my PC wouldn't be able to hold up as well in terms of graphics.

I pre-ordered 360 but hopefully a PS3/360 head to head will come out so I can make a last minute change if I need to. I also don't want to buy a $60 controller to get rumble on my PS3 until I absolutely have to . I like to feel the recoil when I'm blasting mutants.

360 version for me because I am an achievement whore :)
If this is as good as Oblivion it should keep me busy for at least 3 months.

360 for projector play. Then if I like it I will pick up the PC version.
PC, for the mods. My Oblivion directory is over 17 gigs (I can't remember what the original install was), and it's a better game for it. I'm really looking forward to Fallout 3, and to the extras the community can add to it.

Cripes Blog, what the hell mods do you run for an extra 12G of space?
PC for me. The last console I owned was an Atari 2600, and I haven't seen any news about a release for that (yet). C'mon Bethesda! Don't you know how many millions of those consoles are out there in closets, basements, garages, and under couches?

We knew it would be this Fall, too bad it is at the end of October, but at least it isn't Thanksgiving weekend.
As for platform of choice, I'm still deciding between 360 and PC. I'm thinking PC because it is $10 less and there will probably be cool mods later on, but I like the ease of playing with my controler on the Xbox 360 and not having to install, etc. (I don't have a wired 360 controller, but I should get one).
I'll play the demo if one comes out on PC and 360, and pick the version that has the best gameplay. If it is more FPS, than PC definitely. If it is more generic action based, won't really matter. Although I might just get the PC version anyway to save 10 bucks. Fuck buying new console games for 60 dollars...

I ended up having two copies of oblivion, one for the PC (gifted to me) and the 360. I ended up only playing the 360 version due to being able to couch potatoe and watch it on the 37" LCD.
But I have a fealing that the mod community is going to explode moreso on this title than Oblivion, and I'm leaning towards getting the PC version at this point. No doubt someone will gift me the 360 version.
PC for me, I might buy the collectors edition and then wait till I upgrade my PC (happening imminently).

You should buy the $20 wireless receiver for your PC. Works like magic and cheaper than the wired controller.

Definitely PC...I'll probably hook my pc up to my big screen / home theater setup so that I can get this surround sound every console player brags about, while still getting the mods :)
I'm going PC on this one, I just recently upgraded it and I've played every previous Fallout game on the PC.

Absolutely, positively has to be the PC version. The gimped 360 version (if Oblivion is any indicator) will grow stale in a few months, while the PC version will flourish...

I've had the survival edition for the pc order since it was announced. Glad to see they finally nailed down a release date. I hope it does end up with the modding community like Oblivion, I could see many things from the previous fallouts making it in that way.

I'm sure I'll get it on the 360 first, and then after I get some upgrading done on my PC (or not, we'll have to see how it plays) I'll get it on there and play around with mods and whatnot. I did basically the same thing with Oblivion.

Skynet: Was actually ok. Ok, but not more.
TES: Daggerfall : So bug ridden it hurt. Bland and incredibly repetetive dungeon design.
TES: Oblivion: Pretty world, but uninspired, dull. Mediocre combat, boring story, boring NPCs, boring quests, irritating dialogue system. Despite the game being so free form, I feel that there is precious few ways to solve the quests the game provides you. it is big, yes, but so god damned generic.
I have probably played more Bethesda games, but these are the three I've played that has "Bethesda" stamped on them in my memory. The biggest problem I've got with Bethesda is that I never, ever has been pulled in by any of their games. I've never felt the need to see what is around the corner, what will happen next. Never looked at the clock and gone "Is it 3 AM already?!" Playing just feels like a chore.
I think Fallout is the exact opposite of what the TES-series is. A smaller in scope-game, but it has a great story, humor, freedom to do things the way you want, charm and a soul. And if anything it is not generic.
By Odin, I hope Fallout 3 will rule so much it melts the polar ice caps. It is probably my most anticipated game of the year, but that does not mean I think it will be good, just that I hope it will. Doubt it though.

I'm glad it's coming out before all the November holidays. I'm hoping I can weasel out of some family stuff, as I'd much rather be wandering the radioactive wastelands than spending days off work with cousins I barely know or like.
And I'm getting the 360 version, pre-ordered the survival kit form Amazon. I like the controller more than the PS3 one, plus achievements and live integration.

It's kinda sad that the game experience is only good when you install a ton of mods just to overcome errors in game design.
That said, I'll pass. Currently I have Drakensang for RPG-goodness.

I'll probably rent a 360 copy in Oct/Nov just to get a taste while the game is a hot topic in the forums. Next summer I plan on rounding out my den with a dedicated gamingPC so I'll buy my copy then for the mods.
