I'll keep this short and sweet. Codemasters has just announced that Operation Flashpoint: Elite has gone gold and is set for release on October 28 in Europe and November 8 in North America, and to celebrate has released some new screenshots. You can take a look at these over at Boomtown (http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=9516).
I loved the PC original and I'm now itching to play this on Xbox Live..."

This was a pretty good PC title that I had a lot of fun with. However, given that the graphics are a little dated and it launches 3 weeks before the 360, I don't think that this game is going to do as well as I'd like it to.
OPFAP is one of those games I won't uninstall, because I never know when I'll get the urge to play what was the zenith of soldier sims.

That was a fun game. Maybe i'll give the xbox version a shot.
I 3rd the motion - great PC game that really didn't get as much recognition as it deserved - I remember playing this all night co-op multiplayer with my friends before BF1942 came out... Also note: Operation Flashpoint (PC) was what I would consider an 'anti-war war-game' (just like Platoon was an anti-war war-movie), in that it was actually rather disturbing when you'd died (ie a bloody burned corpse in a burned out jeep), you often didn't know where you got killed from (often times my friends and I would draw straws for who had to cross the town square first), and they would also put some anti-war quote up on the screen when you died, ie"You can just as much win a war as you can win an earthquake"... in multiplayer you got re-incarnated as a seagull and could fly around the battlefield until the match was over... pretty surreal.

It got the awards, and damned if it did not deserve them. Time to load that baby back up!
i hope they fix the robot like movement of your character. it got very frustrating playing the PC version and spending 20 seconds trying to fit though a door.
