GTA IV 360 Content Coming Soon

Also on MCV is word (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/31551/GTA-IV-DLC-still-on-for-Autumn) that the downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV is still on track for a fall release.

In a statement to preview its Leipzig Game Convention line up, the platform holder said:

“In autumn there will be news from Liberty City; the first episodes of GTA IV will be available for download exclusively on Xbox LIVE, underlining Xbox 360’s leadership role in the field of digital entertainment.”

Kind of meh for me.

I enjoyed the single player for a while, and then I got bored. I guess I'm waiting for the batch of new and hopefully awesome games thats only a few weeks away. I'm kind of done done with GTA.

I'm the opposite. I got 100% and still wanted to play, but there wasn't anything else to do. I'm really looking forward to the new missions. Gives me a reason to play it some more.

Part of me is I can't wait for this and want to be playing ASAP...the more rational and realistic part of me knows, there is no way with my upcoming semester at school i'll be able to play this when it arrives :(. From the wording ("the first episodes") makes it sound as if there will be multiple downloadable packs, unless they count "episodes" as individual missions available through whatever content can be downloaded this fall.

It must be awesome, i got halfway and it's awesomeness burned out all my awesome sensors causing me to repeatedly fall asleep in the middle of a mission. Only the awesomest games can do that.

What would make me spend that $20-30 isn't the size, it's the quality. Another huge island with a hundred more of the exact same unremarkable missions ala 4, I'll pass. Give me something fun again, and I'll snap this up.

Agreed; the wording is odd. All they're actually committing too is that will be "news" in the fall. Sounds like the "fall update" which is now in "late fall", which by MS calendar is probably around February.

Oblivion already has the Shivering Isles expansion pack and that is priced at 2400 points or $30 and that was a year and a half ago. I don't remember any Oblivion fans "screaming" then but I do remember quite a few of my friends who liked the game picking it up.

Shivering Isles added another good 30-60 hours of gameplay. If this is like that, then $30 isn't that bad. If they can give me another good 30+ hours of gameplay and about 10-12 more achievements, then I'll gladly pay $30.

Now on the other hand, one thing I really didn't like about the Shivering Isles was that at first there was no physical copy. When I got it, it's some memory on my HDD and that's it, then months later they release a physical copy which REALLY pissed me off. I'm hoping to get a physical copy of this.
