Comic Day! Because it's more fun than a hurricane. Click here (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61338) to join the discussion, and for a peek at what you'll find in stores this week, head over to Diamond's new release lists (http://previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=2&m=1&c=6&s=428).

This week, on the sublime Johnny Gigawatt & the Tiger Men from Mars (http://johnnygigawatt.com), Crises that are Final, Invasions that are Secret, and Watchmen possibly getting whacked.

Picks of the Week

Final Crisis Legion Of Three Worlds #1 - Another week, another Final Crisis mini that doesn't - on the surface - seem to be too closely tied to the main event, yet may be better than it. This one involves Superman, Superman-Prime and three different versions of the Legion of Superheroes. The 'classic' Legion seems to be ascendant nowadays, and for the most part they look to be the stars of this book (unlike seemingly everyone else, my Legion is the Waid-Kitson Legion begun back in 2005). Expect huge casts of characters, and an equally high body count.

X-Factor Special Layla Miller - Ah, Layla Miller. Decried by many (and in my opinion, rightly so) as 'Little Miss Deus Ex Machina' in 2005's House of M event, she had blossomed into a fascinating enigma in the pages of Peter David's X-Factor. That is until she was stranded 80 years in the future during this winter's Messiah CompleX event. So it's with great anticipation that we get the return of Layla in this X-Factor special.

Young X-Men #5 - Another title at a crossroads. I've thought the book has been okay so far, but nothing spectacular. They've done a bit with an almost completely unknown cast (seriously, has any team book made up of mostly pre-existing characters has ever had less name recognition?) but I'm still not quite sure why this particular team is together. I want to like this book, but they need to hit at least a triple - if not a home run - to keep me coming back.

Question of the week - It's the middle of the month, so that means solicitations. You can check what Marvel (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080819-marvel-solicitations-nov-08.html), DC (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080818-dc-november-solicitations.html), Image (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0808/19/imagenov.htm) and Dark Horse (http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/0808/11/darkhorsenov.htm) have in store for this November. So, what looks good, what looks bad, and which covers jump out at you?
