Boomtown (http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=9506) has some words from Peter Moore regarding the simultaneous global launch of the XBox 360. It seems, it's not as easy as it sounds.
Moore explained the challenge in shipping so many Xbox 360s globally to the US, Japan and Europe in time for the staggered launches over a two week period. "We're going to ship all around the world; how we're going to do that, I don't know. We're going to rent every 747 we can find," said Moore.
"There's a reason no-one has done this before and we are figuring that out," said Peter Moore. "If we knew what we were getting into, we might not have done it."
As long as I get to play mine on November 22nd....I'll be happy.

Those idiots are renting 747s? They'd better be converted ones for cargo, chartering cargo planes isn't rocket science.

This is about the logistics of having product on the shelves the date the retailers need it. What this means is that Microsoft will not have the benefit to deliver by ship which takes weeks but is much cheaper. They are going to pay a premium to air ship their cargo to meet this global launch ambition but it will certainly be at a price.

That was a figure of speech dude. Sometimes I wonder what is happening with reading skills in the internet age.

That's a bit much to be admitting to so late in the game...

I find this Goliath vs. Bigger Goliath story really inspiring. I hope these young upstarts can somehow pull it together and win the big game in the end.

god all this bundle crap just left me cold. My EB store here in hollywood has over 100 preorders and they will get 25 units. Sheesh.
I really hate it if i'd have to wait in line at best buy around midnight...
whats everyone else doing who didnt preorder a bundle?

...because you definitely wouldn't entertainment value out of the 360 equivalent to $250 in a 2 year span. I'd gladly pay the .35 cents per day to have the 360 today. Wait all you want, but playing the 360 now instead of waiting 2 yrs is soo worth it.
