Although this isn't especially thought provoking news, as a gamer, I did find this a rather entertaining post on the WoW official site. (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/) A band called "Level 60 Elite Tauren Chieftain" will open up for The Offspring at BlizzCon and, surprisingly, they're not just a gimmick.
Comin' straight out of Orgrimmar: Level 60 Elite Tauren Chieftain will perform the last show of their Storm, Earth, and Fire World Domination Tour this month in Anaheim, California, hitting the stage before The Offspring. Having power-leveled past their previous name -- "Tenth Level Tauren Chieftain" -- L60ETC is undoubtedly best known for their multimillion-selling single, "The Power of the Horde," a track that appeared on their 2003 album "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne." In addition to the hard-rocking, heart-thumping tunes it contained, that album might best be remembered by music lovers everywhere for the popular little computer game that was included as a bonus feature on the disc. After conquering every major city in Azeroth, L60ETC will be blasting the sounds of war one more time during their tour-ending performance at BlizzCon on Saturday, October 29, 2005.
Has anyone heard their single? I don't recall it from Warcraft III.

Beat the frozen throne for wc3. When you win with arthas you see this huge cinematic and they play the song. And arthas is doing a guitar solo between ice speakers. Probably the best part of the game, besides the BAAH RAMM YOUUU part.

As much as I loved The Frozen Throne, I still think it's the dumbest name I've ever heard for a game. Sounds like my toilet in December.
Oh, and nerf shamens.

I misread the headline and thought that the Who would be performing. Wouldn't that be a feat?

The sad part is 35 dollars if your ticket goes straight to the band. And if anyone had any concert or music sense 35 dollars is overpriced for shit band like offspring.

Well really, I love the Offspring. I'd pay 35 to see them. I paid 30 to see them at Warped...where every other band sucked. Yeah, they have shitty tracks, but hearing Long Way Home live is fucking awesome.

I agree, I still throw their Smash cd in the old player every once in a while. Bad Habit was one of my faves.

Slag Blizz all you want but it's pretty decent band to land for their con.
