Microsoft had one of its special press events last monday and a CNet (http://news.com.com/Xbox+360+in+a+league+of+its+own/2100-1043_3-5892797.html?tag=st.num) reporter was there to check out the 360 and the games.

After four hours of this, I left the event. I'd tried about five or six games, and have no trouble reporting that the Xbox 360 was the best console experience I've ever had. The graphics were nearly perfect, the sounds were melodic, the interfaces mostly intuitive and I even have to say that the launch titles Microsoft has lined up, while not huge, covers the right range to please the hard-core gamers that will be the target market: basketball and football, several racing titles, a first-person shooter or two and some fantasy.

Yet in the end, I came back once again to wondering if it's all really necessary. When it comes to enjoying a video game basketball experience, just how real does the sweat have to be?
Let's hope next gen will also mean next gen gameplay next few years.

Pfft.... not until I can lick the sweat off of Shaq's shiny bald head will I be satisfied. Then and only then.

On a less rediculous note, it seems that the feedback from people who have actually PLAYED the 360 has been quite positive as of late. Good to hear :D

Next Gen Gameplay, Hell Ill take some past gen gameplay. How about another top down RPG with an Ultima IV type experience, or what about M.U.L.E or Archon playable over Xbox Live! Maybe it will go back to the days when it wasnt about the technology but the creativity. After all, I suspect MS is thinking far longer term about the 360 lifecycle than it did for the original Xbox.

The Revolution is coming.

I am so sick of hearing this nonsense. The "revolution" is that Nintendo will once again have zero third-party support. Stop fucking trolling 360 related threads.

That would mean that you'd have to stop trolling Sony and Nintendo threads, and that so isn't fucking happening.
