Domo arigato Mr. Roboto

Thank you

Cheaper than the rumor, which is good... and I paid 1,200 for Braid... so, there you have it.

Sound reasonable considering the hype. I'll be trying the demo.

I still need to try the demo of this AND Braid...but with no disposable cash at the moment...it would be just teasing myself...but I don't mind the $15 price if the game plays well...

I'm not too excited by this tbh. I just didn't rate Alien Hominid, it felt like an amatuerish kids take on Contra but with a difficulty through the roof. I'll try CC but to be honest unless it blows me away more than Braid or BC:Rearmed then I'll pass.

Bought. In fact I wont even try the demo :D

If the reviews are high it's good enough for me. I know I like this type of game way too much to offend the developers with trying the demo first.

Please let the reviews be high.

If you haven't bought those discount 1600 point cards from Target, hop to it! I had to do rainchecks so I couldn't buy Braid yesterday, but the demo convinced me. I expect the same from CC.

How much are the cards discounted?

Pretty sure they won't be offended if you try the demo. In fact, I think a demo conversion would make them feel better than a straight sale: you were won over by the game and not the hype.

Dont kid yourself... a sale is a sale.

Message was too short. It wouldn't let me post $5.

It's $5 off of $20.

I really enjoyed the art & character design in Alien Hominid so this will be an easy purchase for me.

Day one for me as well. I love the art style and the arcade-inspired gameplay. Can't wait.

Get Castle Crashers. Braid will be just as excellent two months from now, but your buddies may not be playing this game in a few weeks.

That's not to say I'm anticipating a bad game, it's just that people tend to stick with the flavor of the week. This is why I can't play Shadowrun any more.

I wasn't too hot on AH either, but I'm hoping Castle Crashers will be something more along the lines of their earlier game Dad 'n' Me, (http://www.funny-games.biz/dadnme.html) which is one my all-time favourite flash-em-ups.

I'll pay it (assuming I like the demo) but I don't want this to become an ongoing trend.

Before this, the only XBLA games I paid more than 800 points for were Lumines and Braid.

That's great news. I'm pretty excited for this game, but I'll try the demo first anyway mostly because I was no fan of Alien Hominid's floatiness.

We gotta get a bunch of crews together for co-op in this game.

So now that this is formalized.. What is the next game we are collectively going to be waiting for? My vote goes to Peggle or Quake 3 Arena.

Considering I was planning on picking this up at 1600 points, at 1200 it's still a day one for me. Wednesday night with a few buddies over and some brews, it's going to be awesome.

So $15 is the new $10?
Sorry but knowing they will put out a ton of DLC as well I can't agree with $15.

They should sell the game on memory cards in the shape of one of those knights at PAX. That would be awesome.

From what I've seen of the game, I think 1200 is pretty reasonable, but I'll wait until I try the demo. I had actually gone on a bit of a splurge this month on points so that i could afford everything that came out this month, but it looks like I'll probably only end up getting this and Braid.

And I'm calling pink

1200 Microsoft Points is the new 800 Microsoft Points.

I will never mind paying $15 for an excellent, original game. I paid for Braid, and I may well pay for Castle Crashers.

Where it'll get annoying is when the appealing ports that went for $10 on Live Arcade--the Rez HDs, the Ikarugas, the SOTNs--are suddenly five bucks more. If Rez were being released this September, I guarantee it would be $15. Even Mega Man 9 might've been 800 points a few months ago; now that seems pretty unlikely.

But the truth is, I don't buy many XBLA games. There are boatload of good but unspectacular games I haven't bought at $10, and I probably wouldn't buy even at $5.

Oops, somehow my last paragraph got lost, which was:

Braid and Castle Crashers (assuming it's as good as it looks) and Mega Man 9 are a new breed of downloadable game, top-notch, awesomely produced titles that would've been released on a $30 or $40 DVD five years ago (compare Geometry Wars, which was released as a free mini-game five years ago). I think it's worth it getting to play $15 for games like these if the only downside is that we have to put up with being charged $5 more for games we probably aren't going to buy anyway.

Variable Gear

I agree with what you are saying about price, *raoul. Games like Bionic Commando Rearmed, Castle Crashers and Braid would have been sold on a disc for $30-$40 in previous generations of gaming. Despite the $5 increase, it is important to remember that we could be paying much more. Sure, buying a disc allows the possibility of resale, but I not sure that would make up the difference in price between downloadable titles and retail titles.

If the titles are original, receives high review scores and I like the demo then I don't mind paying 1200 points.

If it's just a HD remake of average title 400.
If it's a HD remake of a classic I would buy it for 800.
