You can log on to Wow and download the new 1.8 patch, though the servers will still be down for a few more hours. Just FYI.

Thanks for the heads up! It was much easier to download it now than waiting until the servers were back up.
I'm just waiting (as stated in the Battle Plan) to be able to purchase the right to move a couple characters from one server to the one I am on now. Life would be much easier.

We have it up for download. (http://www.filerush.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4001) You must have 1.7.1 if you wish to install our patch.
Enjoy.

Wonder how many addons this will cripple and how much downtime we're going to get from it.

Nice, it'll be kinda cool when the "2.0" patch is out.
Then again it'll be even nicer when we learn what the expansion's all about.
Anyone else notice this in the "World Enviornment" changes?
Latency upon entering crowded areas, such as Ironforge and Orgrimmar, should be substantially reduced.

It's about time.
I still think that each major city should have an AH to help reduce some of the lag. If they were able keep the lag down without doing this, well, I guess that's ok.

I believe the auction house at the Goblin town in Tanaris should be moved to Booty Bay. As far as auction houses at each major city, I agree except they should all be linked together. For instance, the AH at Undercity would be the same content as Org and Thunder.

The did that in the old days during the beta - then changed it. Their reasoning was somewhere along the lines of "We want to drive traffic to the more overlooked cities"... well guess what, Blizzard: Stormwind and Darnassus are fucking overlooked now. Same goes for Undercity and Thunder Bluff. Sure, people go through there, but not to shop or trade - purely as jumping points to other locations.

I believe that was in their "On the Horizon" or "In Development" list back when I was playing ... 4 months ago. Kinda surprised that nothing else has been said about it yet.

Fuck this. I am SO glad I gave this game up 4+ months ago. You would think in a years time they would have 'balanced' the classes better than this. With the money and manpower they have to posses, really this is pretty pitiful.

For some reason I read that as:
"Oopgraed ya fookin' shanka oolraedy!"
It's certainly fun to say, in any case...
I have such a love/hate relationship with this fucking game.... .. I cancel and six weeks later I am back. I've been doing this off and on since beta. I think I may have to give alliance side a better try. I may try a sword rogue.. ..do they suck that badly?

Sometimes I think frequent patches come out of advertisement, not that they need any more. Many gaming forums post patch notes and remind people to come sample the crack again. Good PR from their marketing team.
It's like the Kristie Alley TV ads, "Hey, I'm still a fat ass, but I lost 50 pounds, have you called Jenny yet?"
Translated into WoW, "Hey we're still laggy as shit, full of whining bitches, but we have a new dungeon for you to farm all night long. Comeeee onnnn, click on that icon cause we know you didn't uninstall from the last 4 come backs."

This patch included a big new high level zone, so most players will agree they needed it. It's fucking sweet.

What MMO is balanced and without the "uber" class or whatever. They are doing a very good job IMO. What MMO are you playing now?

My rogue roasted a shaman 3 lvls above him the other day, the shaman even got the jump on me. It's how you play the class :P
WoW for teh win!!!11
I came back after 1.6 and a quiet talk with myself about getting shirty at the speed of my progression. If grinding isn't fun then GO AND DO SOMETHING ELSE. Play in the battle grounds, go and find some RP - whatever you want to do.
I'm taking things more slowly this time around and having a ball.

My main is STILL only level 47, although I don't play as often as I used to (stupid other games). If you're not just grinding, WoW is incredibly fun. I tend to find I'll level up even faster if I'm working on my quest backlog than if I just go out and try to kill lots of stuff.
The BG's are great too. If I'm ever bored of whatever I'm working on ingame, just go and kick some Horde butt (well, we always get schooled on our server by them, but at least a take a lot out!)

Got logged in last night and flew to Sithlius (sp?) to start questing in Ungoro. Ooops, all the mobs are like 55+ and my 49 Priest can't run thru there. So now, I have to run from Tanaris...... Put a flight path to Ungoro already since there are a gazillion quests there. Geez Blizzard!

I don't play WoW anymore, but I have to say that they've got the best class balance of any of the MMORPGs, and they've had it from day one.

Ungoro is supposed to be off the beaten path, that is why it has that adventurer outpost. I think they planned on the tanaris<>ungoro path on being a hotbed of PvP.
Read a great faux patch notes post on the US Boards.
