There are some new Dreamfall screen shots over at the official website (http://www.dreamfall.com/downloads/screenshots/). Personally I think they look better then earlier pictures shown at E3 and before.
picture that was new (to me at least) featured a disturbing purple gorilla. The Longest Journey also had a toy gorilla in it, leading me to the conclusion that Funcom has issues.
Damn, I hate the new look, although this is one of the only true adventure games coming out. I would give anything for a revival of the adventure genre.

I can't wait for this game, TLJ remains a favorite of mine and I can only hope that Dreamfall does it justice.

Game character's faces and expressions will never look the same to me, not since HL2's fantastic work.

True, but you can tell that art direction was a priority to the Dreamfall project, and not an after thought like HL2. Unoriginal is unoriginal no matter how good the engine is.

One of very few games I am even remotely interested in.

Did you play HL2? The art direction is the primary force behind what made the game look so good. It's funny you make that comment, since out of all the FPS games, HL2 was far and away the best in this department.

I have to agree. The European look they had to city 17, the archetecture of the buildings. Even down to that grity tired look the resistance had. All of it was very well done. I can't think of a single FPS that looks better then HL2 in art and design.

Who the fuck cares about graphics? TLJ is all about story and dialogue!

Despite the fact that they don't have enough confidence in their action elements to give us even the TINIEST scrap of information about them, besides the clipped, cryptic descriptions found in 3rd party previews, I'm still stoked. Probably my most anticipated title.

Well, Valve basically just tried to create the most phot-realistic world they could. Aside from things like armour design and the occasional headcrab, there really wan't much artistic flair to it, at all. That said, the art and the artistic cohesion seen throughout the game is absolutely phenominal. But it isn't exactly a stylized game.

Because we all know what a high standard the FPS genre has set. Even if for whatever reason you found City 17 to be impressive, surely after that it was all down hill for you as well? The enemies are just as laughable as those in Doom 3.
Whatever though, everyone is impressed by different things I guess, I just don't find things that I've seen many...many times before to be all that impressive.
Anyway, no reason to spoil a thread about Dreamfall by discussing HL2 or the shortcomings of the FPS genre.

Those "action elements" certainly have me a bit worried for the exact reason you mentioned. I have faith though.
This and Zelda Twilight Princess are the only 2 games that I'm really looking forward to.

I find that a very reasonable attitude, NonSoft. There's hardly anything interesting happening out there. Does anyone else find this as sad as I do?

Actually this isn't a "true" adventure game like it's predecessor was. The game has fighting in it, so I'd classify it as more of an action adventure ala Legend of Zelda than a pure adventure title such as The Longest Journey, Grim Fandango, or Curse of Monkey Island.
I'm looking forward to this, but most of my enthusiam has waned in the long development time. The announement of action elements killed a lot of the hype for me too. I'll still pay close attention to this title upon release, whenever that ends of being.

I appreciate your interest in my lack of interest. Thank you ever so much.
For the record there are games that I will likely play other than those two, and there will more than likely be some really good ones. I just haven't seen any that have really grabbed my attention.
Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero look awesome but I'm still debating if I want to drop 400 dollars just to play those two games. After all I bought an Xbox to play three games (ninja gaiden, panzer dragoon orta, and jet set radio future), and other than multi-console sports titles thats really all that has interested me for that console. 200 bucks was enough to spend for three titles, 400 is way too much for two.

NonSoft - Just wait until next year bud. The console will come down in price, and those games might do the same. No need to have them on day one.
Hopefully PD0 doesn't pull a Halo (or a Half-Life for that matter) and stay $50 for eternity.
