The last days of summer vacation are here. Preseason football is here! Lots of sports this weekend. Which brings about the question - what will you be playing this weekend?

Warhammer Online...it's not an addiction...I can quit whenever I want!
Also Braid, awesome mind bending fun. :D

FFXI (BST to 72, Campaign), Sly Cooper (such a fun game), and Brave Story (I'm getting close to the end). Maybe some PixelJunk Monsters and Zack & Wiki if I can find the time. My wife and I may go see the X Files movie if we can get the grandparents to babysit. :)
I enjoy watching football but I can't stand watching the preseason. It's freakin' practice, I have better things to do with my time.

Team Fortress 2, and maybe some Braid if I remember to grab a points card or two while I'm out.
Been playing abit of Lineage 2, man that game is unforgiving. So i'll be returning to my good old CoX and dualbox some more there.

Rock Band, Probably will try out Braid and GW2.
World of Warcraft, guild has planned our first SSC raid this weekend, and my wife is about 25 badges away from her badge weapon, so we'll be doing Kara tonight actually. Well There's some local fireworks as well....I dunno.
We'll see what's up.

A whole lot of Braid, for starters. That game is god damn amazing.
Ill also be on some Rock Band, Unreal Tournament 3 and I'm still trying to find time to finish F.E.A.R.
Oh, and I have GH:Aerosmith for the weekend so Ill throw a couple more hours into that before I take it back.

Deus Ex and maybe some Knights of the old republic
Awesome, that is all...
As for myself, maybe some Final Fantasy IV, Dark messiah, and Titan Quest. I thought my gaming slump was over, but except last saturday I hardly game these days. I am thinking about getting Super Mario Galaxy. Well, actually, I really want it but am somewhat strapped for cash right now so maybe some trading or something.
Most likely spend most of the weekend outside, that is where it has been at for me lately.

I feel like it's a lost weekend. Trying stuff but nothing that really is sticking that I want to play...from Gamefly I have Lost:Via Domus since I just spent the summer catching up on all Lost episodes. After that...Etrian Odyssey as usual...I need to go back to Silent Hill PSP game...and maybe continue my attempt at the 5* all songs on GH II...

Most likely some LOTRO, TF2 and some Sins of a Solar Empire. Summer is winding down here though, so most of my weekend should involve fishing, drinking beer and riding around on a Sea-doo.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time for the DS as I finally found a copy and am loving it so far.
I also might start up Resistance for the PS3 and maybe some Hot Shots Golf as well.

My girlfriend and I are sharing a game of Mass Effect that's going to occupy most of our weekend. I've had this game on the shelf for months and I tried to get into it on my own without success...but having her along for the ride has vastly improved the fun factor for me.

Mostly City of Heroes, and probably some Civ IV. Thinking about going down to a local geek store (can't call it a comic book shop; they don't carry comics) and picking up The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. As much as I love the anime, I haven't gotten around to buying it just yet, but with it all packed into one set, $60 doesn't seem too hard to swallow. I'll either do that, or pick up some Transformers: Animated figures, assuming the friggin Wal-mart has gotten around to stocking after two weeks of leaving the aisle practically empty.
That's pretty much it for me.

Tonight my bride to be is having her bachlorette party so one of my groomsmen is coming over. We are going to try to get his new computer up and running and also hunt down a copy of Soul Calibur IV for the 360. If not there is always the fall back of SSBB and Mario Kart.

Ultima VII: The Black Gate. Playing it through Exult with installed sound effect packs, so it feels like I'm back in the 90s playing it all over again!! Best game ever.
Will probably also play Kane and Lynch and finish that up. Borrowed it from my girlfriend's nephew and I really need to get it back to him. It's okay.
Also will probably restart Uncharted so I can get those newly updated Trophies. Yeah.
Hesitating on Braid because I don't really want to spend anymore cash right now (it's a bit tight right now). Will do so when I finish up a few other things though. But the rave reviews from critics and gamers has me wanting to play it. But I am holding off on even the demo.

I'll be busy playing "buy a 360 and beg for people to add me to their Friends Lists."
Lumines Live is expensive, but I am buying it anyway. Call Tycho if you're confused.
I can't believe that the skins Urbanization, Shinin' and Lights aren't included in the Lumines Live Base Pack, or in any of the additional packs. I mean, I love all the other skins, but those were three of my favorite skins from the original Lumines.
I'll also be picking up Halo 3 and Burnout Paradise, so if anyone is interested in playing either of those games over the weekend, just drop me a PM.

Hopefully have the time to finish Resistance so I can be ready for Bionic Commando Rearmed next week.
After reading some of the stuff about Megaman 9 I may pop in the collectors edition and play though the first few games in the series at least 1-2-3. Also debating buying Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition for a replay of one of my favorite games as it dropped to an acceptible re-dip price of $20 dollars

Just got out into the Wilderness in Tabula Rasa. Hope to blast a bunch of bad guys!
Might try the tutorial of Gary Grigsby's World At War if I get the time.
Heading to the Seattle Tattoo Exhibition with my daughter this evening and then I'm giving her a ride up to Western Washington University for the Intro Weekend for Freshmen. We're taking the bike and planning to cruise up Chuckanut Drive (http://www.chuckanutdrive.com/)! (It's a real place! :p)
Tonight my bride to be is having her bachlorette party so one of my groomsmen is coming over. We are going to try to get his new computer up and running and also hunt down a copy of Soul Calibur IV for the 360.

Assassins Creed, one of the funnest games I've played in quite some time and I love the combat.
Legend: Hand of God, a low budget Diablo clone that's buggy as hell with some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard but for some reason I can't stop playing.
I think I'm going to get Braid at some point this weekend as well.

Don't even get me started on the mess that is Lumines Live. Great game, but the way it was chopped into a million pieces pisses me off.
I picked up my very first iPod today, so I'm going to load that puppy up and play some Song Summoner :)
Otherwise, I've got friends coming over tonight so, if I can tear the TV away from my Olympics-obsessed wife, we'll hopefully try some co-op GeoWars2 and PJ: Eden and maybe I'll pick their brain on how to get past some spots in Braid. When they go home, I'll get back to work on Uncharted.
Speaking of work, I'm working all weekend, so I'll be probably plunking away at Etrian Odyssey for a while. I'm stuck though, so who knows. I might play some FFTA2 or FFIV but Etrian Odyssey will be the focal point of my portable gaming energies for the weekend.

I was wondering who even cared about the olympics anymore. The only thing I could really care less about is the hockey competition, but this is the wrong season. Summer sports suck.
Braid was the first time in a while that I bought a Live Arcade game after playing it for less then 5 minutes. Something about its awkward charm really enticed me.

I will say that the opening ceremonies were impressive (until the Parade of Nations... zzz...) and since she was at work this morning, she'll likely want to watch them tonight.
That said, I agree completely. The only things even remotely interesting to me are the swimming, diving and... well, that's it. And I don't really care that much about either of those.
At least it beats the Winter Olympics aka the 14 nights of Figure Skating. Garg!

Civilization Revolution. Is that the right answer?
More Bully on the Wii. I'm really liking this. I never thought I'd play a game where I'd find myself running to make it to biology class on time...
If I'm feeling very, very patient I'll fire Alone in the Dark (PC) back up. Goddamn, I really want to like that game but every time I try to play it I get about 5 minutes in and it does something to really piss me off and I have to turn it off and walk away from my desk. It's a classic game-design example of a slew of good ideas completely killed off by a host of bad choices. Bah.

I have a question to ask of anyone who's played through it... but I'm going to spoiler it, for those of you who haven't played the game. (Which, in that case, get to it, 'cause it's awesome.)
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE STUPID BEAST THINGS!?!?! I was playing it and I literally said to my brother, "It's kind of refreshing to be playing an adventure game that really doesn't have any zombies or abnormal creatures for a change." Then five minutes later these stupid "curse beasts" show up or whatever. It's almost enough to ruin the game for me. ALMOST. I mean, I should've expected something after the whole "footprint next to the boobytrap made out of our airplane pieces" scene... but still.

Without spoiling it (and since you are near the end), the game will explain their role by the time you beat it. "They" ALMOST ruined it for me too, but I trucked on. Prepare yourself for lots of cheap deaths near the end of the game though, something that turned me off even more.

They explain it all as the game gets closer to the end (Drake has already probably figured it out but hasn't mentioned anything to the other characters--he'll be the one who explains it). If you finish the game and somehow missed the explanation, come back and ask. I was wondering this as well (guessing actually, and incorrectly), but he explained it all in one line, and it made sense.

Gah! Shut up, all of you! I'm making my way through Uncharted (about 40% done so far... Just started Chapter 6) and it is quite delightful. I've made my peace with the shooting mechanics so it's a lot more fun than it was when I was still fuming from the broken shooting in Bourne.
I'm hoping to sink a lot of time into it tonight. I was far too tired to play much longer than an hour last night :(

Are you going for the trophies in Uncharted? If you are playing an existing save from before the update, you won't be able to unlock them. I started over from scratch yesterday and am already past Chapter 6 I believe.

Sadly, it took me about two weeks of sporadic play to get that far in the first place :P
Hooray for trophies! :)
If I could just sit down and plunk away at the game all day, I"d probably be finished the game by now. Sadly, kids don't always have their father's best gaming interests at heart, the selfish bastards ;)

Last night I continued on with Silent Hill Origins on the PSP. My prior save was dd 04/17/2008 .
Probably just some more of that tonight...I will wait till the sun sets :D.
My MS Flight Sim X itch is starting up again. I might just have to dust off the old joystick.

Have fun!
I beat the game today - and while it all finally makes sense, I still don't like it. It still seems like kind of a cheesy, tacked-on sci-fi element to a game that was pretty damn solid to begin with.
Somebody mentioned cheap deaths - what exactly were you talking about? There was maybe one that was "cheap", but it wasn't game-altering.
That being said, I'm pissed - when I started over, I thought I'd picked "Hard", and found out when I beat it that I was on "Normal". So now I need to play through the damn thing twice more to get all the trophies.

I agree, but I thought it was a minor element in the game. Forgivable in the grand scheme of things. It "makes sense" in terms of lost-civilization fiction I guess, since Tomb Raider had some weird aspects that I didn't enjoy either. But yeah, I could have done without it.
Though I don't enjoy the prospect of killing animals in real life, I think Uncharted 2 should have a wider array of enemies to watch out for, like snakes and leopards and stuff. Fighting something else in a dangerous jungle setting would spice up the fighting a bit. Sort of like how the end of Uncharted changes with the addition of the new enemies.

Jeez guys. STOP TALKING ABOUT THE END OF UNCHARTED!
Next thing you know, you'll be talking about how great the end of Braid would be if only there wasn't a giant UFO.
I haven't finished Braid yet and if there is a giant UFO, I deeply apologize for spoiling things :)

Uncharted has been out since last fall. It's fair game!
Just kidding, I know what you mean, but we really didn't mention anything big. Just hinted at a TWIIIIIIIIIIST.
Don't worry, Spig. Oh, and there are 20 or so chapters. You need to pick up the pace! Chapter 6, if you're still on it, is only like two or so hours in, if that. HURRY IT UP, IT'S A SHORT GAME!! ;)

I know. I was really hoping to finish the game this weekend but I got very little gaming done outside of some DS stuff at work. I was wiped.
This week, on the other hand, shall be the gaming week of fun for me!

I'm guessing I should put this on my "to play eventually" list?
YES!
