Battlefield: Bad Company Conquest Mode Now Available

Major Nelson (http://209.11.233.26/archive/2008/08/07/dlc-battlefield-bad-company-conquest.aspx) is reporting that EA has released some FREE DLC for Battlefield: Bad Company. What is it? It's a new mode for the online multiplayer that basically creates the classic Battlefield gameplay. Currently BF:BC's multiplayer consists of capturing or defending gold crates, instead of capturing and defending spawn points.

Yeah...it's not much different. The Conquest Pack will add the game mode and modify four existing maps for the game type.

Gotta say, it's good to see EA releasing more and more free content. After some of their earlier stunts with paid cheat codes, items like this and the Burnout Paradise update are a welcome change.

Well it's made my rental list right now on GameFly. I have one other friend right now who plays it, so it'll be nice to really play one of the newer Battlefields. Makes me miss 1942 w/ expansion. And some cool mods.

Downloaded it this morning. Only 80mb so it comes down quickly.

Hopefully this will promote better team play. There have been a few (basically majority) of Gold Rush where everyone is out for themselves. Once you get in a good working squad it changes in the next round.

I've been playing the hell out of this and conquest should continue to make it fun for a while. I do enjoy the back and forth battles of two good teams. Add me if you guys are interested in getting together a good team squad.

Before I go out and rent this game, they did make this update for both x360 and ps3 versions correct?

I didn't really enjoy the gold rush style while I was playing the demo and as a BF2 fanatic the Conquest mode will be welcomed with open arms.

Releasing a title that's focused heavily on online play with only one gameplay mode kind of killed the positive karma from the free update.

This game in comparison to Battlefield 2 is quite disappointing. The introduction of destruction is cool, but not cool enought to degrade gameplay. The update is interesting thoguh. I would love to see a black gold remake.
