Not to be Captain Obvious here, but that's 17 titles. If I'm not mistaken, David Reid (and various press releases) have stated that there will only be 15-20 titles available at launch, which would mean that there's only 3 or so titles that haven't been confirmed yet.
What do you think they are?

Jeez, thats a lot of sports titles.
And I don't like sports titles. I guess its Quake 4 and Oblivion for me.
Now if only my PC could actually handle their menu screens.

• The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
• Project Gotham Racing 3
for me.... thats about it from this list.
Screw EA.
If you have to buy EA, buy it used.

NHL2k6 and Tiger Woods from that list.
Gonna also get PD0 at launch.
If Dead Rising comes out at launch too...I'm a broke fool.
At first I was like "Whoah, smashing line-up old bean" but then I'm likes "Nah mofo".
Not getting one but if I was the only titles that would vaguely interest me from that list would be Quake 4 and Gun.
Remembering however that this doesnt include other launch titles, Rare's most specifically. Not really PD0, how many god dam FPS games does one launch line up need?

Not withstanding quality, I could find a good number I'd dig at launch: PD0, Gun, Oblivion leap to mind.
And of course, I hold out hope that Seaman 2 will be added to that list at some point.

Sorry, I was in a rush to get the list out and only had three of the developers/publishers listed. The list has been updated with all of the known games coming out at launch and links to screenshots.
Enjoy.

The more the merrier, I say. Gun and Quake 4 look to be solid AAA titiles. I am still getting Kameo and PDZ so I can play with my 9 year old son. I will pick up Quake 4 later and have to play it after my son goes to bed. I don't do the sport games too much so they don't interest me. I am also happy to hear Oblivion will be a launch title. I wont get it right away but it is on my buy list.

Should PGR3 be on there too? By the way thanks for putting the list together! :D
No problem. I caught the news update on Reuters about 15 seconds after they posted it and got right to work on the list. :)
At the moment, it's safe to assume that PGR3 will be available at launch.
Now, if only any of those were actual in-game screenshots...
The THAW and GUN screens are in-game shots.

The THAW and GUN screens are in-game shots.
Which would explain why they look less "stunning" than some of the other shots.
By the way, all of the PD0 shots are in-game, even the one with the x-ray vision on and all that. Granted they are very old shots, but they are all in-game.

Over at Shacknews today one of the writers gave their impressions from X05 and said that PD0 was the best looking game of the show. Quite an improvement.
He also said he was a little dissapointed in PGR3, graphically that is.

I guess you call call it that, Kameo can morph into around 12 different creatures each with two different actions and abilities. You'll have to switch to different creatures to solve puzzles and fight enemies. So it will be a constant shape shift do something then shape shift again and do something else and so on. Over all though it appears to be an action/adventure type game. Cool stuff!

Neither of which look next gen. PDZ is not a day 1 launch game AFAIK.

Sweeeet... Oblivion was already pre-ordered and half way paid for. Guess I will go put some money down on either PGR3 or Amped 3. Too bad I most likely will get the games before I even get my 360 seeing as I am on the 2nd shipment at Gamestop. But it's all good since I will be moving Thanksgiving weekend. Won't have time to play anyway... :(
EDIT: I don't suppose those screenshots from PGR3 are in-game, are they? Kinda look pre-rendered...

That's a pretty decent line-up there.
As for the other few titles that may or may not have been part of the 15-20 launch titles, I'm going for:
Frame City Killer
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Ghost Recon - Advanced Warfighter

Well, I can tell you that the console shots (in-car shots) are all rendered but I wouldn't expect too much of a decrease in quality as far as they go. Quite a few of the shots toward the bottom of our gallery are more than likely CGI (some of which were screens taken from one of the first official PGR3 trailers released back at E3). As far as some of the newer shots toward the top of the gallery (the first four) *look* rendered but I have no way of telling.
As BP stated, I would take Maarten's word for what he saw. If he says he saw jaggies, then expect jaggies. If he said PD0 looked the best, then don't expect PGR3 to look any better than Frame City Killer.
That's a pretty decent line-up there.

I really hope Namco puts FCK on the shelf and holds off on releasing it until they've made more progress on the graphics. The last video that came out (the one with the blue car that everyone now hates with a passion) was downright horrible in comparison to the other trailers we've seen (in-game trailers, not CGI).
As far as Ghost Recon: AW, 1UP says it's ugly as hell compared to what we've seen up until this point. From what I could gather, it's like what EA did with Madden 06 back when they showed us next-gen shots leading up to the NFL Draft.
To be honest, I can definitely see all three of these games coming out at launch, so I'm going to second your guess.
Pretty decent line up except for the lame assed crap from EA. Boo Ea!
Yeah, which is why I'm surprised Take-Two didn't announce their lineup earlier. I have a feeling that they are going to take the crown with NBA 2K6 because it's a g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s game. They would probably take the spotlight on the NFL seen if they were still able to make NFL 2KX, but oh well.

Well, being that 17 is in the "15-20" range, there may not be three more at all.
In fact, one or two of the ones in the list may not make the exact 22nd date. I know in an interview from X05, J Allard said they still aren't 100% sure that all three MGS games (PGR3, Kameo, PDZ) will make it for the 22nd, but they'll all be out for the Christmas season.

Reuters (http://today.reuters.com/news/NewsArticle.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyID=uri:2005-10-07T133934Z_01_HAR655050_RTRUKOC_0_US-MEDIA-MICROSOFT-VIDEOGAMES.xml&pageNumber=1&summit=) is showing that THQ has confirmed Saint's Row and The Outfit as launch window titles. Many feared that these titles would be pushed back, but THQ seems intent on getting them to us before the end of 2005 even if the games aren't available at launch.
They are also showing that Microsoft has indeed confirmed that PD0 and Kameo will ship on Nov. 22 *and* PGR3 is still at risk of not making it out on launch day.
For those of you that aren't aware, a launch window refers to a release date on or after the console in discussion has been released.
P.S. - This IS the same Reuters article linked in the original post, but it was just updated again as of late last night/early this morning.

I believe the point THQ was trying to make was that they are indeed going to get both titles out. I think people were starting to question whether or not the two titles were going to make it out this year, so they decided to put the issue to rest.

For those Saint’s Row fans in this thread I can assure you will love the game. It’s much better than GTA, and there’s something very satisfying about blowing up a car and having to dodge the pieces that scatter from the explosion. The game is vast and incredibly detailed and as someone who didn’t like GTA I have no interest in it at all unfortunately.
Personally the biggest question mark for me is Condemned. It could either be extremely good or really boring. I played it at E3, but since it’s a game about investigation and immersion I don’t think I was getting an accurate experience from it. I don’t think it’ll sell well just because most people aren’t going to risk their $50-$60 on something unless they have an idea of how it’ll play or what it’ll be about. But it could be a great sleeper title if they do it right.
