Fileplanet (http://www.fileplanet.com/) has a new message on-site which promises the Release of Your Inner Evil. Whatever it is, it's sinister (because it's for subscribers only) and it is set to debut at noon PST. It's a good bet that other download sites will have it in a short period of time though.

Something sinister is coming to FilePlanet today at noon for all of you loyal subscribers, rub your hands with glee and cackle loudly!
The picture next to the announcement is of a snarling timber wolf, one can only imagine that this is a hint of the new release. Any ideas?

Editor: It looks like this is the City of Villians Beta (http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/cityofvillains/cov_home.aspx). FilePlanet subscribers can reserve a spot now, the beta begins on October 14th.

Timberwolves = Mad Cats

Not that MS didn't can MW5 last year. Though they are advertising a lead art design position for MW5. w00?

If it was a cartoony timberwolf I'd say Black and White 2 demo, but you've got me on this one *shrug*

Someone at Fileplanet can't tell time evidently. They're 6 minutes late.

Wow, talk about underwhelming. Kinda hard to care when they don't even care enough to update at the time they hype for.

It's gotta be City of Villians. "Release your inner evil." That's kind of a big "Duh!"

Ya, I'm gonna say this is CoV...

EDIT: Which, it's all kind of irrelevant... I wouldn't pay for a subscription just to get into the CoV beta. And it's not an Open Beta if only a select few people can get into it <.<

Where does the wolf come in?

Tricky Thumb
10-05-2005, 01:15 PM
I'm gonna say not CoV, it wouldn't make sense considering things I know of an NDA nature.

As for the wolf, if it is CoV, you dont think they would have a pic of CoV, would you?

Tricky Thumb

Well you can be a werewolf in CoV...

Fuck yeah, Fileplanet! You rock! Way to declare your inability to update your own fucking webpage. Proudly owned by the GameSpy network.

I dunno a zelda: twilight princess video with never before scene things, although i doubt it. I'm gonna jump on the bandwagen of CoV beta or something along those lines. they wouldn't use sinister otherwise.

Old news but...

Dungeon Keeper 3 Cancelled
A Bullfrog site update states that development has ceased on the strategy series' follow up.

I was going to guess it was a stick they'd use to er... um... perform unmentionable things to us with. I guess in a way I wasn't too far off.

Dungeon Keeper 3 demo!

Don't even joke about that.

Is there even going to be a Dungeon Keeper 3?

Hopefully never. After the mockey that was Dungeon Keeper 2, I hope that the franchise is never sullied again. Besides, Bullfrog is long gone, and I don't even want to think about who EA would farm the game out to.

What an underwhelming announcement - pay to beta a game! As if most MMORPGs aren't in beta when released anyway. Fileplanet's a joke, I can't see why anyone subscribes to it.

It was a buggy mess that never got the support that was promised. Hell the damn map editor took over a year to come out, and it was supposed to be packed in with the game. Most of the addons promised never came, and even fully patched the game crashed frequently. EA screwed the pooch on it big time, kind of like what they did with support for Black and White, although Lionhead was definitely to blame there as well.

I also didn't like a lot of the things that were taken out of the first game. As an example, several monsters, such as the vampire, went from having 10 spells/abilities to having just a couple. The only real game improvement was in the graphics and a few other minor areas, but overall I greatly prefer the first game, which incidentally only ever crashed on me once - when I loaded the screen with dozens and dozens of creatures all in the midst of battle.
