Obviously the big one this week is PixelJunk Eden, but there are a couple of demos to try out as well. Oddly, no PSP content this week, that hasn't happened in quite a while. From the PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/07/31/playstation-store-update-45/):
PixelJunk Eden ($9.99)
LEGO Indiana Jones The Original Adventures Demo
Madden NFL 09 Demo
FaceBreaker Demo
Soul Calibur IV: Customization Equipment 1 ($1.49)
Soul Calibur IV: Downloadable Music (x17 individual tracks @ $0.99 each, full set @ $14.99)
Weekly Rock Band tracks

The Eden demo was pretty damn fun, once I'm done with Monsters I'll probably grab it. PixelJunk is quickly becoming a pretty reliable brand.

I had fun with the Eden demo. I fought the controls a little, but I think I can get the hang of it if I just give it more time.

Man do I suck at Monsters. I seem to be thinking about my strategy a bit too much..or not enough.

Eden was a good demo but I'll wait on it probably. Nice to see the demos up this week. At least on PSN they don't make you wait a week or whatever it is to download a damn demo like they do on Live if you only have Silver. I'll probably be getting demos on PSN only from now on.

I think that decision by MS is a stupid one, to punish Silver users by not allowing them to try out new demos. Demos for games they'll potentially buy if they try them out pronto.

Namco isn't wasting any time trying to rape people with microtransactions.

Does Eden pick up your progress from the demo? Cause I noticed it seemed to have a lot of gardens displayed and eventually it stopped me from playing (demo timed out). But between I and a friend, we got quite a bit done, so I was hoping I could buy it and pick right up from the demo.

While I loved Monsters, I wanted to really like Eden, but I just had a hard time getting into the demo. It just bored me.

I'll likely get this when it goes down in price, but I honestly feel it's a game that wasn't designed for the likes of me--a non-stoner.

I loved the Eden demo. Alas, I'm not home for th enext couple of days.

I've been trying to log onto my PS3 via Remote Play but it always times out. Grr... Oh well.

You on vacation, Spig? Also, must your PS3 be on in order to access it remotely?

i had the Soul Caliber equipment in my cart along with PJ Eden only at the last moment to realize i in fact own Soul Caliber for 360.

i sure felt like an idiot, and decided to share it, publicly, on the internets.

Does Eden pick up your progress from the demo?

no dice.

Eden didn't grab me either. The music and art direction are top notch but the gameplay and especially the physics feel off.

Nope, you have to start over, unfortunately.

I've just spent several hours playing this Eden with my brother. It is really fun and really beautiful to look at. And the music is cool. Good reviews from my house so far.

It took me a little while to get into the Eden demo, but I ended up loving it and got the full version last night. It is one of those games that will feel weird to anyone just picking it up, but once you get used to it, the movement and physics are actually just right.

Fire towers, level black. The only other tower worth unlocking is the laser, and only then if the level has the heavy airborne. Don't bother leveling arrows. Mortars are good against final bosses (and easy to afford if you sell all your anti-air), but note that only their final level-up improves their damage output, so go black or green. There! Now you don't suck.

Also, rope someone into playing co-op. It makes it easier, and is incredibly fun.

Hive towers are also quite excellent in larger maps. The little bugs it shoots out do equal damage to all enemies regardless of shielding which makes them quite useful. They also do good damage to bosses. Just make sure you upgrade it to black since you only get one.

In Encore there are a couple of levels where its beneficial to use the tesla tower but otherwise it usually its just not as good as fire.

Also 1 or 2 fully upgraded anti air towers are better than 6 low level anti airs.

Also in Encore the ice towers don't require research so they are actually pretty useful in a couple of levels. However you need to upgrade them at least halfway so they have an AoE freeze.

You on vacation, Spig? Also, must your PS3 be on in order to access it remotely?Yes, sadly. I'm stuck at the in-laws with naught but my DS and PSP to keep me company. I was tempted to bring the PS3 down with me but I resisted the urge.

And as long as you've got the remote play settings set right, you can actually turn your PS3 on remotely, though that might only be over the LAN. I'm not sure if it works via the internet as this has been my first attempt to try turning it on remotely.

Oh well. I'll be home in a couple of days and then the Eden and Siren glory can recommence.

It works over the internet, but the ps3 is technically always on, for mine, the WLAN is constantly searching for the signal to power up. It was fun waiting for the THQ shareholder's meeting to start playing PixelJunk Monsters in a hotel lobby with free wifi.

The settings for the remote play are sorta the runaround. First you have to set up the psp connection via USB. That allows you to do the local area connection, then you have to enable the "Allow remote play to turn on the system" option right under that. This enables the network connection to stay active, looking for a signal to power up. Doing it via internet, you log in to your PSN account via the PSP first, and your ps3 has to have that PSN account (obviously).

I just leave the PS3 on all the time so that I can be working on curing cancer while I slack off at work.

Rogue, I think I had all of the settings set up so I could turn my system on via remote play but for some reason I can't get it to turn on my PS3 via my in-laws internet connection. Oh well.

If there was a power outage (there have been some storms over the last few days) then I'd have to turn my PS3 on manually to reinitialize the WLAN... Or someone broke in and stole my system...

Only 3 more days till I can play Eden!
