Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6135026.html) has an article up about which games will be available on launch day for the xbox 360.

he would only confirm eight titles as being available the same day and date as the 360: Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup.

As for the other seven to 12 Xbox 360 games that will be available on November 22, Reid said they would be announced "in the next few weeks." Ok, now we're getting somewhere! Now if they'd only announce what last-gen xbox games would work on the 360, I'd be happy.

I don't retro game much, so I am not as interested in the backward compatibility, I am too busy playing the new stuff. Although Halo 2 will probably be one I can play right away, ok so I know it will :) . That is one I will play until Halo 3 comes out, unless PDZ takes the crown until then. But I am bummed that PDZ is not confirmed for launch day yet...OOPS it is confirmed YEA! doh I am tired :)

When is the 360 supposed to be available? 22 Nov right? My local Gamestop said they wouldn't sell it until 23 Nov, midnight, but still 23 Nov. Anybody else hear this?

Haha, just got done posting this in BP's thread. Anyway, glad to hear that Kameo/PGR3/PD0 will indeed ship with the Xbox 360 (although PD0 was pretty much in the bag once PRO-G found out about the 50-player MP being slimmed down and TV mode being cut).

Well, at least I'll have Kameo to play I suppose... But Saint's Row would make me feel much better about this launch!

I'm pretty sure that GUN, Quake 4 and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland will also be launch day titles.

yeah, 22nd for the US and 23rd for Canada, perhaps that GameStop lad just got it wrong.

American Wasteland looks by far to be the most underwelming of all the launch titles. Not only does it look current gen, but we have played this game SIX times before... well... theoretically speaking, I mean. I personally jumped ship at number four.

Please don't tell me you think Gun looks any better. :)

By the way, I agree. THAW and TimeShift should both stay clear of the Xbox 360 and just come out for current-gen platforms if they aren't going to bother making them look better.

Perhaps not, but at least it's not gameplay leftovers reserved for the sixth time. 7 games in (I believe) 7 years has got to be some kind of record. Dairymaids in 19th century Dorset, England that don't do that much milking.

I have 4 games on order

1. Perfect Dark Zero
2. Kameo
3. Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion (may cancel for the pc version, havent decided)
4. King Kong

After this announcement I'm at least positive I'll have 2 games to play on launch day, which was better then xbox(halo), playstation 2(ssx), and gamecube(rogue squadron 2). Hopefully my 3rd and 4th will be out launch too, but having 2 games to play isnt bad.

What really is ticking me off is the lack of discussion on backwards compatability. There has got to be some REALLY disapointing news on this front if microsoft hasnt given any info yet. My guess is compatable games are gonna be halo, halo 2, fable, and maybe a handful of sports games. I sold my xbox to pay off my 360 pre-order, I would love to know which of my games will be worth keeping around

I think GUN looks great, but I love westerns. I really enjoyed Red Dead Revolver when most didn't.

I'm also hopeful that the 360 version of Tomb Raider will be out before year's end. I can't wait for that one. With CD at the helm, we may actually get a good one!!

GUN does look current generation, because it IS a current generation title. It is coming out on the Playstation 2 and Xbox 1 in addition to the Xbox 360. I thought it was a next-generation title when it was announced, but if you head into any Gamestop you will see the pre-order boxes for all three platforms.

Kind of hard to look "next generation" when your title has to run on the Playstation 2.

eh, I ordered King Kong for 360 knowing its current gen. I just ordered it for the 360 because I wanted to play it in hi-def, in widescreen, with a wireless controller, and w/the "slight" improvements that version is supposed to have. If a game is fun I dont care how current gen its graphics look. Granted these "minor" improvements are costing me an extra $10.

as for looking forward to a new Tomb Raider game, I thought most people stopped doing that after tomb raider 2???

I haven't looked into this at alllll... Apparently EBgames is "sold out"?? W T F?

Except for Obsidian, nothing really excites me about Xbox360. Anyone want to take a stab at convincing me?

Release Oblivion at launch, or you aren't getting my money, Microsoft.

After the PSP fiasco, who in their right mind would buy Madden 06?
(That's not even taking into account the fake "gameplay" movies they released early on.)

If I can get away with it, I'll never buy another EA game again.

I think I'll continue to stay the course and what for a price drop. Pretty good launch, though.
