Trilogy? I mean do you even think they will finish the advent rising trilogy? I mean it didn't come out all to hot. Look at shenmue. That's a great game and what is the game gonna wrap up. I didn't see any gameplay there, I don't think. And nothing that says, oh yeah trilogy material.

That trailer didn't do much for me. By that I mean, it was cool, but so are a lot of trailers. It wasn't cool that it distinguishied itself. It didn't make me say 'wow.'
But the mere thought of another Silicon Knights game does. If the gameplay is as inventive as Eternal Darkness, and the story is even HALF as good, I'll be there on the first day, buying the uber edition for 80 bucks.

The next game I want to play with giants is Shadow of the Colossus.
Although this does look cool. From the three 'races' identified there, I think they might be focusing each trilogy game on a different race's point of view. Now *that* would be worth seeing.

Coming from Silicon Knights.....the same game Epic, BioWare, and a whole other group of western developers are putting on the 360. War Devil, Gears of War, Dark Sector, Mass Effect Too Human. It's hard to keep track.
I'm sure the gameplay will be original, and hopefully polished, but aesthetically, it looks like Silicon Knights is putting out the same game as everyone else so far.
I liked Too Human more back in it's PSX days, when it had a more Philip K. Dick cyber punk edge to it.

Is it the fact that Too Human is copying everyone else, or is the fact that everyone else is copying tthe "Phillip K. Dick cyber punk edge"?

The fact that Too Human used to be more about hackers, computers, an RPG like upgrading systems, with a Japanese influence.
Which none of these games possess. Now it's burly mutants/cyborgs/soldiers running around blowing up things and swinging swords in very stereotypical post-apoctolyptic environments.
Not saying the games are bad, they just all look like the same game at this point.

So let me get this straight, people are all excited about a game that was originally slated for an N64 release. This thing is 2 generations late.

So what if its two generations late? Why the hell do I care if its not on the system that it was first designed for if it was built from the ground up with this new system in mind? Look at Eternal Darkness(By the same damn people), it was first slated for the SNES, then the N64, then it accomplished kicking everyone's ass on the GameCube...Fucking troll.

Actually if i remember correctly, this was an orginial playstation game before nintendo made them a secondary party for them. This game prob has been restarted at least 2 times

Eternal Darkness was one generation late, and it was one of the best games of this generation. From some companies, these sorts of delays would be troublesome to me. SK has proven that they can use the extra time to make their game phenominal, though, so I'm stoked.

Yes Evil, because man against machine is so terribly original. Going by the trailer, looks like a sci-fi God of War, that said I'm digging the designs and it's SK, these people made Legacy of Kain for christ sake.

So what you naysayers are saying is that a great game with an awesome story can't be created in an established setting/genre? Silicon Knights makes great games with great stories. I supposed you'd say that Legacy of Kain was "just another vampire game" or that Eternal Darkness was "yet another survival horror game." Both were great games with excellent stories (especially Eternal Darkness).
How 'bout we give SK the benefit of the doubt based on their track record and realize that this game will more than likely be fantastic?

Sci-Fi God of War? Can we put that on the box? I think it would help sell copies.

It's not just that this is an established setting and genre - it's a setting that we are seeing a TON of right now. Kinda like World War 2 games a few years back. Seems like the new overused setting is "the future, man/machine, yadda yadda..."

Well I'll give you that. But more than just the Man vs. Machine thing I'd just say it's sci-fi in the next gen that seems to be everywhere. Regardless, I'm excited about Too Human. Eternal Darkness was possibly my favorite story of this gen and I can't wait to see what else they've got up their belt.
On a side note, I'm still longing for Bethesda to show us Fallout 3. I'll be surprised if they don't announce it as exclusive to a particular console, probably 360 (but I don't really care which). I'm sure they'll also shock us all and state that they're using Unreal Engine 3.

I have little doubt the game will be awesome, and I meant sci-fi God of War as half a compliment (were I hating it, I'd of said a sci-fi Devil May Cry). While I have God of War and played it, I also loved it so more of the same is a burden I can very much bear.
I just can't see the excitement of a man vs machine setting, SK will have do some interesting stuff to make it... well, interesting.
And LoK is possibly the best god damn series ever, I would make out with Michael Bell given the chance.

Very cool trailer... but of course no gameplay....
And yes.. it looks like "action" games are all the fashion now.

Philip K. Dick did not invent cyberpunk, sir. Blade Runner's atmosphere was different from "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep".
Question: Silicon Knights created Legacy of Kain, but the rest of the games were developed by Crystal Dynamics?
Looks like a fun game.

That trailer didn't do much for me, didn't seem to represent the game in anyway. The musical score didn't even impress me. But hey, it's Silicon Knights so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until we see more.
Here's my proposition for the plot, by the way:
Man was created by machines, in the future a war breaks out and the machines are revealed to the humans as their creators, their gods. Cue lots of fighting in underground temples and battlefields with big hallways and tunnels, the bosses being giant robot "gods" (Probably pulled from norse mythology but could of course be from a variety of ancient religions). Oh, and the hero is some sort of cyborg "chosen one" with power armor.
Yep.

Pretty much, SK made Blood Omen, then CD came in and started with Soul Reaver.
And to think I may have a part in something on a game box.... I think I'm going to cry.
