Yup, puts that NBA Live 2006 "rendered target" to shame. This is competition, EA suits, how do you like it?

What the hell?
The animation looked weird. As did the ball.
Looked good though. Needs some more work on animation, badly.

Yup... EA likes it so much, that no doubt they'll approach the NBA again with "Sign us up as the exclusive license holder, we'll do great things with the sport." Hopefully the NBA stays much smarter than the NFL with this one. Can you imagine what NFL 2k6 would have looked like? And played like? And been better in every way than Madden 06? Alas for EA sideswiping competition and jumping on the "if you can't beat 'em, buy their license out from under 'em" bandwagon. Thank god I'm not a big sports game fan, or I'd be tearing my hair out even more than I already am.

Fucking no. I don't even play NBA games anymore (I lost interest in the NBA for the most part after the strike, just like now with NHL) but EA fucking with competition is NOT good.
I hope they fall down the stairs like my grandma and die.

Who knows? There was that viciously delightful rumor (http://biz.gamedaily.com/features.asp?article_id=8603) that said the NBA rejected them once late last year (that EA denies), but if EA came back to the table with something better, they may not refuse it. Let's just hope that the fact that they've made the most money off of EA titles (because they have been around longer) doesn't necessarily mean they make the best product to represent your product. I am by no means a sports nut but I do think that on the average, Visual Concepts/Sega/ESPN make a better game than EA. I take 2-3 years between every (sports) release I buy if they're EA products and every year I buy VC because I just think they're that much better than the EA offerings. Sadly, I won't be able to throw my support behind a VC football game this year since EA owns both the NFL and NCAA football. I hope EA and the NFL/NCAA get burned for this, even though I know they won't. Why doesn't EA realize that competition is good (oh wait, it's only good for innovation and the consumer, not necessarily the company that has to innovate)... oh wait, it's not good for them.
Oh well, here's to hoping VC can hold onto their NBA, NHL & MLB licenses.

2K lineup was always better, it's just the EA fonbays have long since been programmed to feel pain when they think.
