UFO: Aftershock hands-on preview:
Our reporter went to the Czech Republic last week to visit UFO: Aftershock developer ALTAR interactive. While there he got to play a version of the game that was less than a week from completion. You can find his preview over at StrategyCore.co.uk (http://www.strategycore.co.uk/ufo/pg/aspreview1)

The four soldiers entered the map inside the capsule. I moved them carefully just outside, but didn't immediately spot any Transgenants. So I moved my team along some railway track with a large train on them, and soon met the first enemy. All four soldiers were ordered to fire, and it went down quickly. Piece of cake I thought, and moved on. Coming around the front of the train however, I got to learn that I had only met the scout. Four Transgenants started attacking my soldiers, and one of the guys was hit so hard he stumbled and fell.
Exclusive UFO: Aftershock content:
In addition to the preview we've also released a lot of other exclusive UFO: Aftershock material in our recent series of newsletters, including several nice pieces on X-COM. You can find it all online at our site (http://www.strategycore.co.uk/pg/newsletters).

Doesn't look so user-friendly, but I gotta say everything looks better than Aftermath, especially the interface.

Well have played Aftermath, you got be damn good to get me back.

-Stupid AI
-Having to beg for .50cal sniper ammo when you could make Frigin' Lasers! (for your sharks because that weapon worked like Jack Sh!t on Aliens.)
-And dropping onto a hot LZ for the final mission , and getting that pre set ambush. How lame that the designers mapped you into an overwhelmning off the scale ambush.
