As an old Bioware fanboy I think some people here might find this interesting...

The Bioware webpage (http://www.bioware.com) shows a Flash Animation (http://www.bioware.com/_global/flash/04oct2005.swf) with the text "2005 10 04" against a flickering background.

On the forums we're speculating (http://forums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=452873&forum=84) that it may be related to Dragon Age or maybe the game they licensed UE3 for.

As in... 2 days from now? Interesting, at least we won't have to wait too long.

Note that "2005 10 04" is the date Microsoft's X05 Xbox 360 event launches in Amsterdam so no Dragon Age only new Xbox 2 title.

Mystery solved.

Awesome! The next Bioware RPG is always a highly anticipated title for me. Couple that with the Unreal 3 engine, and I'm STOKED.

Here's hoping they go a bit more old-school, though. I thought the combat in Jade Empire was actually pretty good, but the story, and character interactions, and above all SCALE and non-linearity, just couldn't compair with the likes of BG2.

I guess that's just a bi-product of how games are made today. Until the workflow software catches up with the graphical quality, it will be harder and harder for companies to put out games of the length of some of the classic RPG's. Programs like Speed-Tree, physics-suits and engines like U3 that come pre-packaged with a ton of stuff standard are a step in the right direction, though.

Thanks Borys. I can stop caring now and won't be disappointed :).

It's not about old-school. It's about target audience. The games they make for consoles are "new school". So whatever this is will probably be like KOTOR and Jade Empire.

I'm looking forward to Dragon Age.

give me a baldur's gate, even you said there will be never a game in the scale of it, please please make a baldur's gate!

I think Borys is right. So if it is a BG game it will just be one that taints the universe, like that Fallout game.

Well, then again, I suppose they could use the occasion to launch a new Xbox 360 title AND hype up Dragon Age some. That'd be nice.

I know it won't be KOTOR3, but if it is...the beers on me.

Thanks, Zeal, but I prefer my beer in a cup.

I was really disapointed with the final planet in KOTOR2. Obsidian did a hell of a good job, but it seems that LA told them to deliver whatever game they had ready at the time, so we got a very crappy and dissapointing endgame. Pitty.

I really hope that Dragon Age gets done some day, and that it actually mixes BG with NWN.

Best parts of KOTOR2 - Nar Shadaa and that Mandalorian planet.

Worst parts of KOTOR2 - Pergasus, final planet (Sith Academy), Dantooine, that Palace planet, Telios (spelling?) - in two words: everything else.

Well, I kinda likes Dantooine and the palace place. The "meat" of the game was good enough. and Yeah, Nar Shadda and Mandaloreland were REALLY good. But the ending was really sad, because it was clear that a lot of stuff had to be thrown away. it didn't make much sense, and the boss battle sucked Bantha ass.

I really hope they show something in the vein of their older PC titles. The new ones on Xbox (KOTOR and Jade Empire) didn't impress me in the least.

I miss Bioware. :(
