Pro-G (http://www.pro-g.co.uk) has a review of Codemasters' action flight sim for the PS2, Xbox and PC.

Heroes of the Pacific definitely caters for a rather niche market. You can easily get into the action without any flight sim experience, but a love of planes and aerial combat is bound to increase your enjoyment. If previous aerial combat games have left a bitter taste in your mouth, this won't taste any better, but fans of the genre bored by relentlessly replaying Crimson Skies will find plenty to enjoy.

I thought CSkies was just about the perfect blend of sim vs action (one-upped only by the various MW4 games), so if this guy is making favorable comparisions between CSkies and HotP that's a good thing. I think it's silly the way way HotP and SWON pretend to be WWII games and then have upgrades for your aircraft, etc., but I can easily see why, from a gameplay perspective, they do it.

At any rate, give us a demo, Ubisoft!

Both CSkies are examples of the pinnacle of action sims. They also account for most of the examples outside space titles, though.
