Aeon Flux, Peter Chung's animated cult classic, is being adapted to a feature film starring the lovely Charlize Theron. If you're thinking a movie about a hot babe murdering people while wearing black leather screams "videogame tie-in", you've been paying attention for the last few years. Double Agent, which is apparently some sort of psuedo maxim.com, has the trailer for said game in streaming format. You may partake of it here. (http://www.doubleagent.com/video.php?v=745&ct=75)
The all CG trailer offers no clue as to how the game actually plays. But it does a stupendous job capturing the feel of the original cartoon. I'm a huge Aeon Flux fan, and I had written off the movie as misguided Hollywood cash grab. This trailer has me reconsidering that opinion.

The movie makes me want to break my head, much like the new Three Stooges movie...

well it is a farrelly brothers movie so it can't be all bad, plus it lists 'sara rue' as curly so it can't be a very faithful update
i have higher hopes for it than the aeon flux movie
the trailer for that made me sad
I played the game at E3. I realy like it. It somewhat plays like a beat-em-up type game, like Zombie Revenge, or a GOOD fighting force, with objectives.

Monk... I don't think you understand. It's the Three Stooges, but with the stupid-bitches of Hollywood playing the Stooges. That's not cool, at all.

I never really liked Aeon Flux. I can't stand the style of the artwork and it always felt like anime for the Xtr3m3 set. You know, lots of edgy stuff implemented in a way much like the way the 'edgy' content in PoP: Warrior Within was implemented.
From what little I watched of it the story had some interesting concepts but I never was able to get into it. I also recall Peter Chung's contribution to the Animatrix being the one I disliked the most, again mostly due to the art style (though I did like the use of CGI in that segment).
Ah well. To each his own. Maybe I'd actually like the live-action version of AF as I wouldn't have to hate the character design so much :)
As for that Three Stooges movie... for shame...

Just watched the trailer for the game and even though it's all CG I like it. If the movie has a style more like this than the animated version then I'll be a little more interested in the whole revival of AF, as it were...
