Today is Day 3 of Evil Avatar's E3 Coverage (http://www.evilavatar.com/e3/e3.php) for the year 2008.

Nick (bapenguin) and Scott (Psykoboy2) had a busy day yesterday as evidenced by the Evil Avatar Radio E3 podcast from last night (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57815). They suffered through the Nintendo Press Conference (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57769), got to eat for the first time at the Sony Press Conference (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57779), went to play some games like Left 4 Dead and Rock Band 2 that they should have videos up of soon on the E3 page (http://www.evilavatar.com/e3/e3.php) and finished the night off being treated like kings at the Activision Press Conference (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57812) in the food (Mashed Potato Bar!) and drink department (you have to listen to the podcast to understand).

Today is Scott's last full day in Los Angeles and the boys have quite a few appointments on the docket:

Sometimes I miss going to E3... then I remember how much my feet usually hurt.

Yeah, people don't realize how much work it is. What really sucks so far this year is we haven't really gotten to PLAY anything. With one or two exceptions it's mostly just been us crammed in a room with a developer playing through their game.

Meh.

Wonder what Take Two will have to say. Maybe they will talk about the EA buyout and how they don't want none of that shit.

15 minutes of Take Two, then Midway?

I'd skip Midway.

I miss E3 as well, but I always felt like hell afterwards. I ended up with strep the whole trip one year and didn't even know until I got back.

I really don't miss climbing inside of those kiosks, running wires, or lugging dev kits across the whole fucking center. Ugh. Those kiosks were like iron maidens on the inside.

Lets not forget on a side note, wrestling games and pokeman would usually draw the lowest common denominator to the booth. I used to hate that...

You mean from the site? If the guys get some hands-on with games today (they evidently only played a couple games yesterday, everything else was the developer showing it off) I would expect them to write out some stuff.

I'm working on an impressions thread on some games from stuff I've seen in video form of developers playing their game. Hopefully it will be up soon.

I feel like E3 wasn't that great this year. I remember last year having tons of cool announcements ... I also feel like we're missing footage and previews from a ton of games ...

Well, I haven't done a ton of looking at major sites like IGN, Gamespot, GameTrailers, etc. They probably have a lot of video stuff on games you might be interested in. The 2 guys here can only do so much unfortunately and I can only write on stuff I've seen so far.

I've been cursing pretty steadily all week and the only REAL new footage we've seen from previously announced games is Wolfenstein... everything else is either CGI like 'I'm Alive' and 'MAG' or teasers like the GOW3 ...

I dunno.. i was expecting something else i guess... maybe Alan Wake, Dead Rising 2... i dunno I'm spoiled with the amount of info we're getting i suppose

Well, I was very surprised Alan Wake was not shown...same for Dead Rising 2. I have no idea why Capcom spent their Presser just talking about the Lost Planet movie. Maybe there will be some new announcements on the floor...but so far I'm not seeing any PR on anything new.

Nintendo has even been quiet, sometimes they announce things on the floor.

There have been a couple. There's a Kirby DS game coming, mostly a remake of the SNES game. Rhythm Tengoku DS is coming to the US (it's like musical WarioWare).
