First we are up, then we are down. Then we are up again and... then right back down. Whee!!!! Isn't downtime fun?

We seem to be having a hardware issue here on EvilAvatar.com, which has cost us a few hours of downtime yesterday and another few hours of downtime last night. So far, our host seems to think that the big solution is just to do a reboot, which isn't exactly the level of customer service I was hoping for.

The last time we had a hardware issue they were champions and got us back up and running (with no work on my end) in just a few hours - if there really is a hardware problem I'm sure they will help us get back online as quickly as possible.

Till then, please bear with us for a few days and if we are down, then go visit Penny-Arcade (http://penny-arcade.com) for a few laughs and before you know it we will be back.

Oh, and keep in mind that if you donate money to us during this crisis, I'm going to spend it on Buffy the Vampire Slayer dolls. They are my security blanket during these tough times. ;)

Same here. I actually did a shitload of work today with EvAv down. At first I thought my company had caught on to my antics, and IT had the site blocked. Thank God I was wrong.

While I was crying silent tears at having the site down, I found THIS (http://www.gametab.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584). It appears that some people on the internet hate us, or at least the site. I had no idea. Well, our very own bapenguin looks to have defended us a bit in this gametab thread, but damn. We should start an internet jihad on all other newsites. Fucking pussies.

Hell, that was a thread-and-a-half! I have no idea what polypusher's problem was. I suspect that petty jealousy perhaps played a part in his feelings at the time, but I could be wrong.

I mentioned this on the GameTab (http://www.gametab.com) thread you linked to, but I'll say it again - I LOVE EvAv!!! And I will defend it whenever and wherever it's attacked unfairly.

BTW, did you notice that GameTab is now owned by Ziff Davis??

That was me. That guy got all snide with me after we changed servers and his account was gone and I thought he might be someone I knew... one of our regular posters... and I was like, "Who are you?" thinking he would say he was some game developer I knew or some long-time reader I knew by another nickname and he just got more and more rude in every E-mail till I just started ignoring him.

You have to keep in mind, most every time I've seen someone on another forum bashing on EvilAvatar.com, it is someone we had to ban because they couldn't keep themselves in check around here.

And I rarely ban someone. It is kind of like if you get banned here, you must be some kind of super-gimp.

Yep, all it takes is a single ban or edited post to get the Yutt's(oh ye of dissenting opinion) of the world going though. In my 5 years here I can barely remember any bannings or even edited posts.

I get the feeling there are people out there who think EvAv is a corporation in an IGN kind of way.

Though I often disagree with the editors, that is part of what makes comming to this site fun. I don't have to agree, and have the ability to voice my disagreement without having to wade through endless bullshit in a seperate forum. I have seen bannings, and they usually revolve around piracy discussions and whatnot, or if someone goes WAY overboard...and I do mean WAAAAY overboard, in their rantings. This has to be one of the most open discussion forums on the internet in regards to gaming, which is why I've stuck around for so long.

Also, I got a literal fuckton of work done yesterday, all the while muttering obscenities under my breath because I thought IT had caught on as well. I think I'll just hang on on here today and make a complete ass of myself, as I usually do when bored and responding to every thread. Its fun though, almost a game in itself.
