Now that the Burnout titles have been wrapped up, Criterion can work full speed ahead on its new console shooter, Black. While they are new to the FPS genre, they have the utmost confidence that their modern day shooter will bring never before seen intensity. In Black you play as an American Covert Ops soldier going up against all sorts of foes in an Eastern European setting.
Check out 32 new Black screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=28475) over at WorthPlaying.
Release Date: 02/01/2006 (XBOX (http://www.gametab.com/xbox/black/3946/), PS2 (http://www.gametab.com/ps2/black/3947/))

That looks very nice indeed.
Unless its a triple A title though i won't be getting anymore games for my Xbox. My pennies are going to PC and 360 games.

They look nice, nicer than I expect for current gen... errr... well, but if I think about Far Cry Instincts, Halo2, Half Life 2... oh, man... forget it, they look just plain nice.
Isn't too soon for next-gen?

This looks VERY early.
They shouldn't release screens until final or near final assets are in the game.
Video *might* be better. A lot of things that are *next-gen* look much better in motion than still

I think you are in the minority on this one.

Or Firefox was blocking them thinking they were ads (depending on what you have installed in Firefox).
I have another theory, but I won't go there.

You do realize that this is running on the PS2 right? With fully destructible environments? Just checking because if you think that looks bad for a PS2 game, then...well I do not have to go any farther than that.
As for the people having trouble viewing images on Worthplaying, I do not believe it has anything to do with Firefox. I have the Adblock extension and disabling it makes not difference. What was blocking the images for me was my Nortons ad blocker, so for the few times I want to view Worth Playing images I just disable that and I am good.

Umm, it's current gen dumb ass... as a matter of fact multi-platform (PS2/XBox) and running on Renderware.
And it looks even better in motion than it does in stills. :p

The gameplay footage from this game looks freakin' amazing. Shit blowing up all over the place.
This game looks stupid and isn't realistic and why isn't it set in WWII!

Shush! Those are secrets.
Shush! Those are secrets.
I hope this game doesn't have a story, or missions or anything. It should just retail for 20 bucks, contain 5 stages, 20 guns and let you shoot the shit out of everything you possibly can.

Did you see the part where he shoots the building with a machine gun and the building implodes?
Pure awesome.

They made RenderWare...
BTW have you seen Burnout Revenge... I can't believe that game is running on my PS2. So beauty-full.

Gee, more fake screenshots. Wonderful. These give me no idea of what the actual game will look like. Why can't they just be honest and show us the 640x480 shots, that lack anti aliasing? The xbox version might have 720p, but that's still not even close to this.

You sure can "go there", I am far from an idiot when it comes to this stuff. Same situation with my dads pc, running an older version of FF, thats I never touched the console nor extensions.

I get the impression some of the people posting here haven't seen the video of this game in action. If I recall, it was low quality, but it was still really cool watching the player run around and blow the crap out of everything. If you missed it, do a search through the old news items.

Last I read this is the Half-Life 2 of console games.
Finally, a good FPS on PS2. Can't wait to try it out!

Oh, I'm sorry, I misread the announcement, I thought this was going to be coming out on the next-gen platforms.

I hate looking at screenshots on worth playing. They always pop up as a tiny window that I have to resize.

Seriously, is this title EVER coming out? I remember hearing about it years ago.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems like this game has been in development for eons.
I wish this game could have been saved for next-gen systems.
