Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53528) has the new Max Payne Movie Trailer featuring Mark Walberg as Max Payne.
Do yourself a favor and check this out.
Looks FUCKING awesome! As moody as the original... anyone know the name of the soundtrack playing in the background ?

Cool. I liked the original Max Payne and hope the movie will be good.
As long as there's no nightmare levels. Stupid blood trails...

Looking good.
I think the soundtrack is a Marilyn Manson track. Can't think of the name.
Edit: It's 'If I Was Your Vampire'.
Damn that actually looked quite good.
1 concern. Did I see Devon Aoki in there?

As long as all she has to do is stay silent and maybe kill a few people every now and again as in Sin City, I have no problem with her.
Wasn't too shabby. Not really into the way he dives or the part involving the shotgun (also diving) as it seems like they're trying to implement a gameplay mechanic into the film, but other than, pretty okay. I'll see it one way or another.

Holy shit!! That looked great! I can't count the number of times I played through the two max payne games. I'm super excited. The article attached to the trailer says they're shooting for a pg-13 rating though... a bit bullshit. The game was dark and bloody, and I think the movie should be as well. I didn't appreciate the pg-13 Die Hard. I hope the same thing doesn't happen here.

Actually, 100% of the violence shown in the games would, when translated into a movie; be rated PG 13.
Hypocrites in the rating system, I say.

Well that came out of nowhere.
It looks like it might not suck completely. I think Walberg is a pretty good actor so I have hope.
In the nightmare scenes all sort of weird stuff happened.
Perhaps an angel? Can't remember.
Saw Mila Kunis in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".
she is seriously hot!!
It feels a bit odd, that she is the voice of Meg in Family Guy, when watching her in movies.

Yeah, I'm with Yeti. They nailed the Max Payne "look", but what is with the dark angels? Now, I can see this being a surrealistic interpretation of Max's perception of the world... very akin to the nightmare levels and such. But if he's actually fighting evil angels? Uh, yeah, that is a huge departure from the games... and makes it more like a hackneyed sequel to Constantine.

He alliterates in the game about Valkyr having something to do with angels. He also compares Mona to a dark angel at times. Chances are, this scene is either a drug induced nightmare or fever dream.

Awesome.

Max Payne: There was something disturbingly familiar about the note on the desk. The handwriting was all pretty curves.
Michelle Payne: [the note reads] You're in a computer game, Max.
Max Payne: The truth was like a green crack through my brain. Weapon statistics floating in the air, glimpsed out of the corner of my eye. the repetitious act of shooting, time slowing down to show off my moves. The paranoid feeling of someone controlling my every step. I was in a computer game. Funny as Hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.

I had hope when:
1. Uwe Boll wasn't involved in any way.
2. Marky Mark's first picture as Payne.
Then I got scared when I saw "The Happening", but now I'm okay after that trailer. They look to be getting a lot of things right, and I hope Lake puts in a voice over about how he thinks he's in a movie this time.

There weren't any, but I'm just assuming they decided that a demon made for a more interesting dream sequence than having Marky Mark jump over pits following a trail of blood.

The reason I was concerned about the flying things is because they show them in the trailer repeatedly. If they're hallucinations, then either they decided to show every part that had them in the trailer, or they're just always around throughout the movie.
I guess you could say i was more curious as to how they fit in. Now that I kind of get why, I just want to know how often we'll be seeing them.

That looks badass! The only thing that worries me is that it says the movie is rated PG-13. How can this NOT be rated R? That makes me think that some of the graphic things that made Max Payne memorable won't be in this movie, although I suppose they might have found a way (that trippy shit with Max running through the hallway with blood on the walls to walking on a blood trail in fucking space is so memorable I can't imagine it not having a place in the movie). Either way I can't wait to see it.

Hmm i think this talk of angels and demons is over reacting. They are more like an interpretation.. just like the game max payne has trouble deciphering reality from his mental problems.. I'd figure the same thing. What I'm thinking is that after Max (and maybe thugs and whatnot in the movie) is drugged he encounters these things and can't determine whether they are real or not.
In any case, if it gets the story right at all I'll love the movie. It's nice to see a real dramatic story in an action atmosphere. This could potentially be a game-based movie people could take seriously as a whole. How great would that be? I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Once again, if Sam Lake wrote the screenplay, it's been in good hands. As amazing a job as he did with the games, I have a hard time believing he'd jump the shark with literal angels here. My hunch is that they're more of the blur between reality and the surreal that the whole series has been steeped in.

Based on the legendary, hard-hitting interactive video game. MAX PAYNE tell the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent of revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nighmare journy into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max (Mark Wahlberg) is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face unthinkable betrayal.
I dont know but to me that last line makes it kinda sound like the winged things are not just a bad v-trip. Although after spending most of my afternoon watching the trailer, it seems to me like its the story form the first game. Some of those quick flash shots are sceen for sceen from the game.

Well that would suck, but hopefully it is a V-trip. Let's also consider the fact that the movie might not implement Valkyr at all, but with Lake being involved, I have faith the story will at least be somewhat faithful to the game.
I just wonder if the movie will go as far as the second game goes and encompass Max's love affair with Mona.

Looks all right...kind of generic. I'll wait for an HD trailer to get a better feel for the cinematograhy, etc.
You can grab a DVD quality version, it is linked a few pages back.

Yeah I already quoted the text you had there Pirate, but oh well. I hope the demon things are just dream sequences when he's on V. And for you Marky Mark haters, I think he did a great job in The Departed. The voice over in the trailer is pretty lame but it's better than no voice over, a likely decision because Hollywood and most people (i.e. idiots) hate voice-over narration. But like someone said, the art direction and cinematography look very promising, but then again that was the only good thing about the Hitman movie.
Ugh, it's like for every pro there is a con.

Don't sweat it. People bash great actors all the time for whatever stupid reason. I could care less. I don't care how much trash anyone will talk about Leonardo DiCapprio, it's not justified. The man is such a talented actor and has proved it, yet people talk a a lot of shit about him. Mark is a fine actor as well.

I thought I would give you guys a bit to mull over: Leaked Script Here (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0467197/board/thread/109271654)
Seems to stay in tune with what was seen in the trailer so I think it is the real deal. The interesting part is it predicted the black angels and hallucinations. Good news :).

Because you can't tell how the cinematography is without higher resolutions.

A bit of a follow up. After reading through the script and doing some comparisons, it is an actual copy albiet and early draft since some of the characters in the script are not actually included in movie. You can find a lot of the lines from the trailer in the script though, and it firmly concretes that the black winged creatures are HALLUCINATIONS. A side effect of V being so prevalent, it is supposed to give you the feeling of being suffocated, making you hear flapping and the brain interprets it as wings of fallen angels, or in the script they call them Valkyries.

I sure hope so, seeing as the more I watch the trailer the more they seem real based on a few things, like the woman in the alley seeing the shadow of the angel, as well as the man who says, "The Devil is building his Army." Of course, a LOT of characters in the story use Valkyr if I remember correctly. If they are hallucinations, I hope they don't overdo it on the angels (seeing as how they are shown so much in the trailer this worries me) and pay enough attention to Max's other hallucinations (His son's room, etc.).

If the final cut is anything like the script, the winged black figures just signify how deep you are into V hell. It starts as something passing and builds up to overpowering hallucinations. I think they cut the trailer that way to get people who aren't familiar with the game interested in the movie. It wouldn't be the first time a movie's trailer was cut in a misleading manner.

Eh, you can see shot blockings and the like, but, no, you don't get a full feel for cinematography at Youtube resolutions.

Max Payne has never really been about telling the story literally.

IGN has a slightly different trailer (added scenes) in HD (720p):

There's an interesting scene were you can seen a couple of "Angels of Death" flying towards Payne when he's in some building and he breaks/shoots the window from which they are coming and when the glass shatters, the angels disappear.

That's odd. I don't have an Insider account and I'm not even logged on to IGN and I can still download it fine.
Try the direct link:

if not, Demonoid has it (legal; this is a torrent of the trailer):

I keep having the same problem. The thing is, it says Free Downloads. Insider content is usually marked by a little logo next to the download. Some bug somewhere?

Could be the second good game movie (the other one would be Silent Hill. No, Resident Evil isnt one that list cause the Zombies were lame :P)

Well the -trailer- seems ok, still sense failure about this. Although this is harder to screw up than say, Hitman, given the amount of plot in the game - so who knows. Mila Kunis certainly has the look of Mona (at least in Max Payne 2) down.
I paid to see xXx long ago, so I suppose I'll have to see this.
