Mirror's Edge Pre-Order Details

Wait! Wait! Wait! I know what you're thinking, but this one seems worth it. Joystiq is reporting (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/09/pre-order-mirrors-edge-and-its-in-the-bag/) that if you pre-order Mirror's Edge (not to be confused with a special/collector's/director's edition) you'll get a pretty nice piece of swag to go along with it. You play a Runner named Faith, and she runs information in her faithful little satchel to and fro in a sprawling, futuristic metropolis. If you pre-order the game from GameStop, you can get your mitts on that very same bag. It has seven compartments, comes in eye-blasting yellow, and "fits your PS3, Xbox 360, or laptop for gaming on the run."

Not bad at all. Especially just for laying down $5.

That's actually pretty neat, getting basically a RL version of a in-game item. If it wasn't for the color, the bag would even be usable :)

Watch until the end of one of the trailers...it shows her. She reminds me of an update to the Oni protagonist minus the purple hair.

I think she's kinda cute. They modeled her human sized breasts and she doesn't look like a bimbo. It's pretty refreshing.

I mean just look at it if it can really play that smooth it looks like it could be a joy to play.

Very few games have gotten me this excited about them this early on. It looks stunning, there is something in the art direction and design that just stands out. It clean and bright and the U3 engine is looking wonderful in there hands so far. The lead is a character that seems really interesting and this idea there pushing of making her feel real is really interesting.

Hope the pre-order deal comes to the UK in some way or other and i can't wait to see more of this from e3

I may have missed something, but I thought this was the freebie for the bog-standard pre-order; nothing comes early, and the fiver is part of your purchase cost.

As for the bag itself, well, I've got enough bags. Now if it were a box of some sort, with latches and drawers and clever little compartments where I could put my stuff...oh yeah. Hmmm...boxes.
