Lunar: Dragon Song is finally out! Guess it's about time to buy a DS. Lost in Blue actually looks interesting too, reminds me a lot of harvest moon.

Book of the Dead limited edition? This shall go along side my limited edition tin.

Every time a true-blue geek doesn't see Serenity, God smites a baby orphan.

Please, think of the orphans.

A nice list of games this week. Lunar gives me an RPG fix, Lost in Blue gives me my weird game fix, and the Rome expansion gives me a strategy fix. Yes, certainly a good week, IMO.

Yeah, more limited edition DVDs....is there any other level higher than "limited" to get us to buy DVDs again and again?

Farcry is looking good.

Serenity will be in mid-October for me and my buddies. Imagine that the browncoats will be en masse.

I'm anxious to see the reviews for Cold War. I was interested in the idea when it was first announced, but haven't heard much else about it.

I played the Xbox demo and it was very clunky... Not good or bad - kind of meh.

Dont forget about Day of defeat Source today.

Ah, DoD... I bet thats what suppose to be up on the list, not Counter-Strike: Source.
*Edit: Serenity is out this week? Eeek! I forgot! Must find money!!!

Really kind of a slow week for the fall crush. Lunar: Dragon Song might be memorable and then again, it might not. One of the big draws of the Lunar games was the high quality voice-acting. Otherwise, they were really simplified RPGs with subpar graphics and descent stories. I'll be surprised if they were able to fit voice-acting on to a DS cart. Going to wait on reviews.

Already read a review of Lost in Blue. Evidently it is extremely repetitive; but charming, so probably a lot like Harvest Moon. I'm intrigued and may pick it up just for being something new.

Otherwise, I'm completely not interested in the other titles. I will be going to see Serenity though.

Dont forget about Day of defeat Source today.

I don't think he forgot it, I think he called it Counter Strike instead.

I was using steam to reinstall hl2 and cs:s to my new rig last night, saw the splash screen to pre-order DoD:s, so I did. Looking forward to playing it tonight.

Chalk that up as another win for Steam, if I'd just been reinstalling from CD, I'd not have triggered the impulse buy of DoD:S.

Suffering...oh yeah!! ..I can't wait for this. Well, actually yes I can, I gotta wait til my next paycheck....
Can't wait though, once I got used to the original's control and targeting, I really loved it, not having to conserve ammo in a horror game.
SUFFERING!!!!

More good games. Trace Memory and Lost in Blue are the only things that really grab me though. I'll have to pick up Lost in Blue and see if the interface is as creative as it seems.
I'm anxious to see the reviews for Cold War. I was interested in the idea when it was first announced, but haven't heard much else about it.
The demo was interesting, but it's one of those games where you have to devote a chunk of time to mastering the controls to have any fun.

Anyone play Ultimate Spiderman last week?
That cool or they screw everything up?

Wait?! There's another Sly Cooper game out already? How did I completely miss that one? Those games are top notch. Too bad I already bought Katamari, Ninja Gaiden, and Farenheit this past weekend.

Oh, and if any of you are on the fence about Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy, go get the game NOW. It's really well done. I started playing late Saturday evening, to see how it would run, and ended up playing it until 5am when I finally managed to drag myself away.

Oh, and obligatory excited about Serenity comment. I need to go to a thrift store and find an old brown coat.

Sly 3 ALREADY??? That one came out of nowhere. I'll have to put it on my list to pick up at some point in the future.

I didn't much get into Firefly the first time around, but I caught part of a marathon just recently on Space channel. I'm pretty stoked to go see it.

I got into Firefly very late. As in, last week my wife's coworker lent her disc 1.

We fell in love with it immediately and had Amazon overnight us the boxed set, and watched them continuously until we were done. Now I'm going back and listening to the commentaries.

I can't believe it took me this long to get with the program. Already got my tickets for opening night :)

IMDB serenity comments are one gush after another. Looks like only firefly fans made it to the screening, or everybody is a firefly fan.

:-) Guess I'll have to pick up the dvds and check it out.

Can't wait for Serenity (as most of the rest of you can't either). Going to see that on Saturday.

Sly 3 will be mine this week. Maybe today, definately by tomorrow or Wednesday. Easily my favourite platformers on the PS2.

Another DVD released this week is Corner Gas Season 2. If you haven't seen Corner Gas (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397138/), you're missing out on the hands-down funniest sitcom on TV. I just can't wait to see the ATM episode again :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that Serenity flops.

Bone
09-26-2005, 10:09 AM
That's ok if it does. This will at least tie up season 1. I've heard it does this nicely while leaving plenty of room for more movies if it does well enough. The budget on this was something like 40 mil... shouldn't be that hard to recoup, if you go by the success of the DVD sales.

Why didn't all the geeks watch Firefly when it was on air? We really missed our chance...

PRetty happy 'bout Lunar. Hope Trace Memory is cool too.

Probably because it was marketed poorly, or not at all. Can't watch it if you don't even know it is on.

That, and they showed only 11 of 14 episodes, completely out of order, starting with Episode 2 and ending the series with the 2 hour pilot! WTF.

There is a lot of continuity between episodes that was lost, but the pilot (also titled Serenity) setup the complex relationships of nine important main characters. Fox shot this series in the face.

I'm 90% done with the game and I need to write an article for the campus paper this week. I think I'll do a Fahrenheit review and throw up a thread with it on here.

That would explain it...

I wonder from what portal from hell these TV execs spawn. Ugh. Very ugly sentence structure. but you guys get my point.
