Monday. That dreaded day of the week. The day freedom ends. Time to reflect on your gaming weekend.
So what did you guys play? Finished up The World Ends With You? Started mentor in Ninja Gaiden 2? Played some Solitaire? Found some vague Japanese doujin game? Tell us all about it, right here!
I played Oblivion, and I'm hooked again. Started the Dark Brotherhood quest line (didn't do that before), so now I'm going the evil route. Also some GTA4.

Motorstorm, Mass Effect. Not liking Mass Effect as much as I thought I would, at least based on reviews/recommendations. Can't seem to keep my party alive half the time, and taking cover is pointless when so many baddies storm my location.

I mostly played the paint the new house game. And the yard work game. And the redo the floors game. Those sucked, though I'm happy with the results. I did get a few hours of Disgaea 2 in, I'm not just past the first stage of the last chapter. I've only got 28 hours on the clock so it's considerably shorter than the first game. Well, then again, I didn't have to grind much at all this time, so that'd explain that. I could go on and do a lot of the high level stuff but I think I'll just save that for Disgaea 3 and move on to the next game in my backlog.
So next it'll be on to the first Persona on PS1. It's sad that I own Persona 1 through 3 and I've never played one of the. I intend to correct that.
Age of Conan
Grid
Insecticide
Vampire TMQ Bloodlines
Crazy Machines 2
And Buzz and Guitar Hero with some friends on saturday.

I never used the bow and arrow the first time. But I'm finding out it's way easier to use those than the melee weapons. Nobody can touch me.

You might want to peak a little at a FAQ for Persona 1. There are some choices you made that end the game very early. I made that mistake, and never got around to replaying it.
As for me, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 has totally sucked me in. That's been getting all my spare time. I thought GTAIV would do that when I got it, but the lack of random taxi/ambulance/fire truck missions has made it a slow starter for me.

Hmmm, I'll do that. I'll have to try to find one that's spoiler free. I took a peak at the manual for P1 last night and damn, that thingis nearly 60 pages long. That's pretty big for a game from ~10 years ago.
I played some audiosurf.
Then I played audiosurf.
And I finished up the weekend with a bit more audiosurf.
(And a few minutes of bioshock in there somewhere too.)

I've been kind of flailing about since I finished up MGS4 last week. I spent this weekend playing Diablo 2 (go go super assassin!) and playing Ratchet & Clank: Tools Of Destruction on the PS3.
I also fired up Stuntman: Ignition on the 360 for a brief attempt. Man, that game is hard.
FFTA2 got lots of playtime too. That game is evil.
And I destroyed a playground on Saturday morning, but that was work, not fun. Oh well.

Oh, and I spent far more time on Saturday evening playing the games I'm doing for this week's Turning The Spigot thread. It's always awesome when games from 5-6 years ago can still suck you in for a whole evening.

Entirely too much Age of Conan. I'm playing on a PvP server and having a blast. Started out on a PvE, but that was not nearly as much fun. Sure you get ganked, but raping a lvl 16 Conqueror with my lvl 13 Tempest of Set when he tried to jump me makes it all worth it.

Sheesh, I finally finished Kingdom hearts 2 on Hard. I played the shit out of the first one, got all the soundtracks, manga, books everything, even the final mix versions. For some reason the second couldn't hold my attention like the first one did. I finished it though, sad to see it end. Come on KH 3 on PS3!!!!
Oh and WoW with the wife. (Damn arena)

Lots and lots and lots of Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Pretty much the only game I played all weekend. I thought the first FFTA was ok but A2 has me hook/line/sinker. I can't stand the way the main character looks though, so terrible. Vaan looks way better in the game then him, even the character art is better.
65 hours in and counting. I've only completed like 120 quests (+repeats) so I have like 200+ to go haha.

Played an absolute ton of WoW. Finally decided to level my twink out of the 49's. 21,000 HKs, Halfway through revered with both factions, full S2 and Vindicator's, 100 WSG and AB marks, 10,000 honor to spare - all in this one bracket. It was time to move on. 70 here I come.

Played a little bit of Hellgate: London. Kicking ass on those demons and zombies! Fun stuff! It's kind of tough to figure out when to let go of a weapon or armor item since you can buff them up and they often end up being much more effective than anything you get from vendors or drops.
Went for a couple motorcycle rides. Turned over 1000 miles on the new bike and went for a 200 mile ride to Stevens Pass yesterday. Sweet ride!
Lots of house work and yard work. Picked up a pressure washer yesterday and my son is stoked to get out there and blast crap.
"Dad... There's a gasoline warning tag on the sprayer gun and hose!"
"Well, they probably think its a bad idea to run gas through the spray nozzle."
"... ... SWEET! TF2 Pyro!"
"No. No. NONONO! NO!"

Picked up Supreme Commander on sale for £5 and Zeus - Master of Olympus for £2 on Friday - tried to install Zeus but the install would'nt run, so installed Supreme Commander and played that mostly. Tried to play AOC but it crashed on loading once again (does not love my laptop's Geforce Go card) and I could'nt be bothered to reboot and try loading again.

If anything, manuals have gone downhill from 10 years ago. Huge, beautifully bound and designed manuals were the norm way back when. See anything from Origin or the amazing manuals that came with Fallout 1 and 2.
Also, I played Tex Murphy: Overseer for some oldschool goodness this weekend.

What have you heard about it that is bad? The story isn't going to win any awards but it's enough to give you a reason to fight another battle. The gameplay though... Man. I've somehow sunken 15 hours into this baby and I haven't been playing it hardcore or anything. I just fire it up and the next thing I know 2 hours have gone by...

Debating buying the GOTY version of Oblivion and replaying MGS4.
Also waiting for Bionic Commando Rearmed
Got most of the way through Resistance: Fall of Man and finished up Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Hoping to beat Resistance by tomorrow and then it's on to Ratchet and Clank. Love having a new system - always so much to play through.

On PC maybe, but they've always been hit or miss on consoles. It was a rare thing for a while to see a substantial manual for a console game. It's funny, though, the Persona manual has some awfully butchered English. Hopefully the actual game was localized better.

I played a lot of Mario Kart Wii on Friday, but that's a pretty common occurrence when I have people over. I spent most of the weekend watching old re-runs of the X-Men animated series. That show was so 90's it hurts some times. Just started up Season 4 last night before I went to bed.
On Saturday I loaded up Diablo. I played that for a little while but I think I need to find a copy of Diablo 2 as I think I will enjoy it more. I also played some TF2 but some serious lag was preventing me from hitting anything but virtual air.
I also played some Lost Odyssey sporadically over the weekend but I can't seem to find the time alone to play more than an hour or so at a time. oh well, it's not like the game is going anywhere.

Battlefield: Bad Company all weekend long. I wasn't expecting it to be this good, but it is. If you're boycotting EA because of the NFL thing, ya need to swallow your pride and at least rent this, because its a blast both online and off.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that linking my gamertag to my EA persona was a complete pain in the ass. I ended up contacting EA support and they had to do it for me.
On a side note, I was able to unlock 3 of the 5 "find all five" weapons by checking my stats today, signing up for the newsletter and being a battlefield veteran(played at least two Battlefield games).

A crapload of Bad Company. The single player is decent but it didn't blow me away. But the multiplayer really shines. I can't wait for Conquest mode.
I also watched Dario Argento's "Three Witches" trilogy all in one sitting. Good stuff. Now I can't stop listening to Goblin.

Just do all in your power to get out of the first zone...get to the "garbage dump" area and it really starts to shine. There were a couple of battles there that really pulled me in :)
, Ico (I'm stuck...help me...), .
Stuck? How so? I remember getting annoyed at some shadows and getting stuck in one area...then coming back a month later and seeing the obvious...sometimes it just needs a break.
For me...all PC gaming weekend :)
Day of Defeat: Source -> At $4.99, how could I resist. Same as I remembered it when I played a free weekend last year or so. Being a free weekend, it kind of sucked because some don't play the objectives very well.
Sin: Episodes -> Again, at $4.99, how could I resist. Not horrible...just not much there. I feel like I'm running in circles through the same environments, facing the same enemies. I guess I'm only into the second level, but still...
Team Fortress 2 -> Just a little bit here and there.
Diablo 2 -> Just started an assassin. Was just going to "play a little", which quickly stretched into an hour.

Picked up a new (well, relatively) miniatures game called AT-43. I would compare it most closely to Warhammer 40K but a bit less complex (every action is resolved on a d6 system using a simple "Universal table of Resolution"), a bit faster-paced, and without the need to build and paint miniatures, since they're all pre-assembled and pre-painted. They make a starter box (or Initiation Box as they call it), which is really nice for getting a feel for the game. It starts with simplified rules and gradually adds in units, abilities, and the nuances of the game system over a series of tiny skirmishes for 2 players. Really effective at getting a player into the game mechanics without overwhelming them.
I'm hooked on it now after a few playthroughs with the full rule set (the company has a few missions posted online that use the starter box and full rules) and ordered enough minis to build two 1600 point armies, so my friends and I can play full-scale games in the coming week. Even if they don't stay hooked, the miniatures (especially the Therian and Red Blok units) are awesome.
Definitely recommend it to anyone that is a fan of war games or miniature games though... quite happy with my experience so far, and looking forward to tapping into the true potential of the game.
Other than that, played some D&D 4th Edition which is really nice. Purists will still think 3.5's better but 4th is a more casual, less number-crunchy game I think. At low levels though some classes seem a bit too strong... not that I'm complaining! Trying out the new Warlord class myself and loving what it does for battlefield strategy.
On the video game front, lots of DS gaming in the form of Bokura no Terebi Game Kentei, and Daigasso! Band Bros DX. Band Bros is the most innovative DS product I've ever seen... but has one glaring issue. I'll make a thread about that in the Handheld forum if no one has yet. And worked on Diablo II some... playing it for the first time and loving it.

I'm stuck ealy on in a section of the game with a candle-lit chandelier and some drawn-up drawbridges. It gets better? I'm impressed. I love the game already. The hand-holding mechanic, the real-world platforming and the hands-off soundtrack appear to be built for me alone. It's like Ico is this game I never knew I wanted. I'm happy that I finally gave it a shot. You can tell the creators poured their hearts into every moment of the game. It's a masterpiece.

Draw your own conclusions. The localization is infamous for inexplicably making a character black, having odd accents, and missing a very large sidequest that was in the Japanese version. The hardcore gaming article (http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/megaten/megaten4.htm) goes into more detail.

Dead Rising--
Long overdue. I know it's great, started it maybe half a dozen times at friends' places, but now I finally hunkered down and got through a good chunk of it.
I've had the game borrowed from a friend for a while, but I've been too lazy to bring my 360 up to the HDTV (so I can see the damn text)
