Team Xbox (http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1186/NinetyNine-Nights/p1/) has a hands on preview of Nintey Nine Nights for the 360. From the same team as Kingdom Under Fire, N3 seems to be a much more action orientated than the series on the original Xbox.
From a quick glance, it’s easy to mistake Ninety-Nine Nights (N3) for a few other current-gen titles, such as Phantagram’s Kingdom Under Fire series, or Koei’s Dynasty Warriors. Obviously, once you get up close and personal with N3 its next-gen qualities surface in a hurry. First off, the game is much more action-based than KUF, and from Mizuguchi’s estimation should be approximately 80% action and 20% strategy.
N3 does have incorporate some team-based tactics, and the Left and Right Bumper Buttons are used to instruct companions to attack or fall back. In this build, the AI seemed to be smart enough to attack enemies on their own, so we’ll have to wait and see how the tactics play out closer to launch.
Although the last video for this was less than amazing, this preview has me a lot more interested. Oddly there seems to be some doubt as to whether this will ever see a launch outside of Japan.
