Editor: A free-roaming city game powered by the Unreal3 engine is still a city game - the graphics are decidedly underwhelming for the said engine and at the same time decent for a game of this genre.

Oh yes, generic shooter guy. I believe I have already played this game 10000 times before. And you think they would go with a more simplified and stylized look, rather than the intricate but ugly look.

Not impressed. Further evidence that the next generation will be an incremental increase visually over this one... The real future of gaming lies in Fishing Sims!

You know, it is OK I think to just say the team isn't doing the engine justice, I don't think Epic will revoke your fanclub membership for that. I would be able to get on board with your statement if it seemed to have nearly the atmosphere that GTA has, it's seemingly a "city" game without most of the elements that make a city (namely, the people and vehicles).

I feel like I'm looking at some chick that is wearing an inch of makeup and has had 20 plastic surgeries, and yet none of seems to have helped.
Besides Gears of War, what other game is using Unreal3? Not rumors... CONFIRMED!?

UT 2007
Huxley
Endless Saga
Lineage 3
Next gen Americas Army apparently
Also Bioware have licensed it for as of now unannounced game, and Midway and Microsoft game studios are working on UE3 games but they have not been announced yet, but are definately in production.
Thats all I can remember right now but I'm sure there are a lot more.

Honestly folks, if those screens are supposed to be "next gen" then we're all in trouble. You could swap those screens with screens from Omikron: Nomad Soul and it'd be a tough bet to pick which was which.

Maybe it's one of those games where it looks better in motion?

I think it's one of those games that looks better in the box. Honestly, they should just say it's an Unreal 3 game and don't show any screens.

Another one of those big City games where there does not seem to be a single Pedestrian or Traffic Vehicle. Nice. Errr.. Not nice!

I dunno... I was looking at one videos on IGN and it looked pretty cool, Not beautiful-awesome or anything, but really good for the scale of the game. (Like, WAY better than the screens). The animations looked suck though... they're not done maybe?
Then I looked at another, of gameplay, and it sorta sucked, like... Holy shit, this is going to be really boring sucked. (Maybe they didn't have the AI implemented... I dunno).
Then I looked at the trailer and I was confused.
I'll give it another look when it actually comes out, but I don't understand why they keep talking about it, it's just not impressive right now.

You guys are comparing how the game looks to how it will play. Don't be fucking morons. A game being ugly doesnt mean it's shit. C'mon, at least PRETEND you guys are intelligent gamers...

I'm no fan of UE3, chum. I'm a source type of guy.
Now, if you've seen clips of this thing, you'd know that there are infact people, a lot of them. Still, it's obvious that this game's Japanese, or in the veins of Japanese arcade shooter, as there's a distinctive "hands tied behind the back" feel to everything - the textures, the city layout, the animation (e3), yada yada...

Hadn't seen them, no. Then perhaps they need someone else to take screenshots that represent the game properly.

i don't think we're going to see many of the giant roaming urban environment games this generation. With every increase in graphical fidelity, the amount of sheer content, in the terms of textures, props, and architecture, increases dramatically in order to creata convincing world.
Also, the textures on that main character... It's like looking at a lunar surface.

Because it's an Xbox 360 title? So few next gen games have been shown that they are all making the front page it seems.
Sadly, not one of them has managed to impress me. Either I'm jaded, or they are just all pretty generic.
I'm going to be optimistic and go with the latter. ;)

You may complain, but you said you have played them. That is all that the game companies want.

Goddamnit why does Worthplaying constantly refresh itself after loading?! It's the only site that does it. It's like a damn kid offering u something then you go to reach out to grab it and they pull it away again!
