In Shadow of the Colossus, players take the role of a young man seeking the truth of an ancient tale of power hidden in a mystical land. Yea I'm definetly excited, I even went out and picked up a copy of Ico so I could finish it before this baby comes out.

Anyone else here see the X-Play preview a few weeks ago? This games looks amazing. I keept putting off getting a PS2, especially now with the 360 coming, but maybe I just need to bite the bullet.

I finished Ico when it first came out. I played the Colussus demo last month and thought that the concept and graphics were great. I just hope that the framerate is improved because the demo CRAWLED along at an annoying rate.

It's one of mine, too. ICO was just too damned magical to not like it. This looks to refuel the flame.

I hope that the 30fps is indeed what it turns out to be. The low frame rate of the demo made me seriously wonder whether or not I would buy the game when it was released.

Another absolute must-have. ICO was one of my favorite games on the PS2, quite a memorable experience.

Shadow of the Colossus is a no-brainer, and I need it now dammit.

The goggle, they do nothing for my eyes!!!
The goggles represent this game. It's just not doing it for me.

That's not the xbox or pokemon fanboi speaking. That's me the gamer. Now that God of War made me want a ps2. Maybe after another price drop.

I concur. I think it looks pretty spectacular. I just wish the demo came out in the Uk so I could have at least tried the demo. If it did come out I just missed it. I will also add that OPM UK is incredibly shite.

ICO was a very good game, it's gameplay and looks were both overrated, though it justly deservered all of the praise because it was different and very artfully done. There was definite room for improvement and hopefully this 'sequel' does the job.

The demo makes it seem like the game could be amazing. I love the feeling you get about how huge these things are. If they can iron out the controls and the framerate this game will be a worthy successor to Ico.

Ico overrated? No.

This game looks freak'n amazing, i saw a video a tv show, and it looked awesome. When i buy a PS2 i'm gonna get this game.

I'm buying a PS2 as soon as it hits $100, whenever that is.

I've already picked up Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter, ICO, Twisted Metal: Black, and Katamari Damacy. There are several more games I want, but I've decided not to buy any more until the system hits $100. Come on Sony - make it soon!

If it doesn't drop soon I'll be picking up a DS, and then there's no PS2 for me until next year.

Basically the reason I want a PS2 is for MGS3: Subsistance. But I will also pick up God Of War, Katamari Damacy, ICO, Shadow Of The Colossus. And a few others.

Ico was fun for a while, but I got bored with it. I do remember how cool it felt to yank that dumb bitch around with you.

These screens are OK, nothing great. It's the same bland "STYLE" of Ico.

To be fair, from the demo it appears Team Ico was unable to fully execute the look they wanted. The field had some bad aliasing, and bits of weird pop-up.

The game does look really nice, but they weren't able to hide the flaws as well as with Ico.

Been looking forward to this for a looooooong time. My only concern is that it doesn't appear there's much to do apart from killing the Colossii. Exploration is fun and all, but if there's little to do while exploring the surroundings, I can see people getting quickly bored.

I don't want the game because it looks good graphically. I want it because i wanna ride my horse up to a 300 foot tall boss, jump on his body, and systematically climb up his body finding weak spots so i can save my women!

I think it's a different breed of gamer that gets this type of game. Not everyone loved it initially, thus the lackluster sales. It became a cult classic, and it was actually the first PS2 game I bought (along with Dark Cloud). ICO played to the sort of things I was into: an interesting story and world where most everything didnt need to be communicated with words or long cutscenes, but you still understood most of what was going on. The main character playing hero to protect the waif like girl played on my emotions as a gamer, making me feel like it was truly me fighting for and defending her. The game was short, but it was like the most beautiful sunset you've ever seen...it's quickly over but while it lasts you are at ease with the world and you can truly savor the experience.

There was nothing I didnt like about ICO. It didnt rely on bleeding edge graphics or a wicked arsenal of weaponry. It relied on things that don't come along as often as they should in this age of gaming. But it has heart and it has it in spades.
