Nice to see Love Guru bomb , Mike Myers needs to go back to making Austin Powers movies so that he can possibly get his mojo back.

Best box office for all movies therein, as far as I'm concerned. Iron Man is over $300 million, Hulk will probably break $150 million and Mike Meyers playing the same three characters he's been playing for 15 years will go down in flames week #2.

The next Peter Sellers indeed.

Two scenes in Get Smart made me laugh out loud. Otherwise, I just didn't think it was very funny.

I thought it was pretty good, they didn't waste all the "funny stuff" on the previews. Overall it was just a pretty good movie I thought.

My girlfriend loved it, which surprised me, since we have similar taste in what we find funny and what we don't. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for a comedy that night. I enjoyed the previews for The Love Guru, but the poor reviews have me thinking Blu-ray rental.

Mike Myers should just go back to being Mike Myers and not these crazy characters. The Austin Powers movies were funny, but Wayne's World and So I Married An Axe Murderer are his best.

My Wife (Get Smart fan) and I (never seen the original Get Smart) both enjoyed the new Get Smart movie. The movie was fun, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys regular comedy (situational) as opposed to slapstick, idiot style comedy.

I didn't heed the warnings and saw the Happening. It reminded me of a straight to dvd release with big name actors and a fairly decent budget that you pick up and wonder why it didn't make it to the theater. Then after you watch it you realize why it didn't. If this were a film by an amateur director they would have a hard time getting another gig.

I like how the Hulk trailers I've been seeing lately have really been emphasizing that it's "As good as Iron Man!!" Just a sign as to how huge Iron Man has gotten so quickly.

I definitely got a kick out of the casting and cameos.

A big phat laugh at this, too. Who knew B-movie grade Iron Man is now the Incredible Hulk's measuring stick, eh Primus?

Iron Man breaking 300 eh? I at least called THAT in one of these threads before anyone called anything about it, really. :p

Iron man is the kind of movie that feels like it earned every dollar of that 300 mil. Unlike Indy 4 and S&tC coasting on its name. No more free rides! >.<

Kung Fu Panda ain't doing too bad either, makes us both happy pandas ourselves.

How awesome would it be if some talented Japanese artists saw Iron Man and collaborated with the current production crew for some crazy Mecha Armor Wars sequel? *imagines Iron Man integrating into bigger Iron Man-bot made of 5 other armors that formed a giant mecha... you know what i mean, lol*

I made the same mistake this weekend. That was the worst movie I've seen in SEVERAL years. Terrible writing, terrible acting, stupid premise, stupid message, stupider ending. There were also multiple shots in the movie where they couldn't even bother to properly focus the damn camera (for instance, the scene at the bus stop at the very end).

Almost every line felt like it was forced and the scene with the main character talking to the plant was just embarrassingly bad.

I also love how everyone who lived in the boonies was a psychotic redneck straight out of deliverance.

The only one of those I've seen is Sex and the City. Maybe I shouldn't admit that on this forum. :p

I did see Iron Man I guess, at 3am on the MegaBus.

I'm guessing that Disney is REALLY disappointed in Prince Caspian. Something tells me that we probably won't see the whole Narnia series brought to the big screen. No great loss IMHO.

Screenwriting 101, do not use the news to convey your story unless it is absolutely necessary and don't speak it out all the time, show or do. There's more but I want to forget it. I think it's a big joke he's played on the general population that if he puts his name on something it will make a certain amount of money no matter how bad it is and he'll release a documentary later this year called "The Real Happening: You Just Got Shamalamadingdonged".

I think "Shyamalaned" would have been funnier than a silly name. It's like how "Mephistoed" is funnier than changing his name to be ridiculous. The joke is making a verb out of the name.

Since I generally say his name that way I guess I did in my own way. It's also easier than googling the proper spelling.

I said this before about why The Hulk would not do great in the US.

People wanna see a witty character in super-cool armor

People don't want to see a guy turn green, big, angry, and jump around in blue shorts.

I went in slightly skeptical but was pleasantly surprised at the new Hulk, and was wondering the same as you.
The fact of the matter is that no matter how good the movie actually is, it's fighting the stigma of the last Hulk movie, which is in the running for the worst comic movie of the past decade. My personal hope is that it breaks even domestically and that it causes them to make another one in a couple of years (in this same style, not in 2003 Hulk style).

I'll put it into perspective for you. When my wife dragged me into Shrek the 3rd, it was pure torture. Yes I know I couldn't even see Limberflakes face, but just knowing he was in the film, listening to his whiny voice... it was hell for me.
Every time he method acted his way through wooden stilted dialogue I couldn't help but feel like he was that movies Jar Jar Binks. Every time 'Arty' showed up in a scene I was thinking "why does this lame ass have to be on screen!?"
It didn't help matters that Shrek the 3rd was the worst CG animated film I've seen in years.

I was a little annoyed that he was in the movie as I read the cast of characters. After a while I couldn't tell who he was. Then they're was the drugged up dance number. He wasn't dancing, it was just him walking around a lot of hot chicks. I wanted to skip because he was on the screen the whole time, but so was so many beautiful thighs.
