Yes, that does seem to be the new price point. I was hoping (http://varsity_uk.blogspot.com/2005/08/price-point-dilemma.html) that there wouldn't be one, so that each game might be priced on its own merits, but that isn't happening yet. Perhaps when demo versions start to become more of a priority*, and sales are made on quality.

*Yes, I am aware that there is a RDKF demo.

I don't quite understand what you go in this game, can someone help me out with that?

A picture tells a thousand words, so a video at 24fps...

I'm not to interested in paying 12.95 for mod quality games. Hopefully that's not the case.

Can someone please tell me how to play the Steam version of Half Life without being hooked up to the internet? I tried installing it on my Laptop for a trip, and it said it downloaded, but when I went to play it (not attached to the internet) it told me the game was incomplete and I could not play?

You need to run a game at least once before it will work in offline mode, even if the download is finished.

Yeah, what he said. :) Valve makes you go through all kinds of de-encryption and other annoying shannanigons before Half-Life 2 will work. Make sure the game will actually RUN while you still have internet and THEN you should be able to play in offline mode.

*Yes, I am aware that there is a RDKF demo.Where? I've seen the video, not the demo. From the video, I didn't see anything I'd want to buy for 13 bucks.

This is a pretty original game, which is something many big budget titles can't even come close to. On top of that the game is made on spare time and a very small budget, yet another thing almost entirely lost these days.

Bottom line, don't be cheap, give the guy his $13 and support the future innovations he may inspire.

I also don't see the RDKF demo and the controls scheme looks kinda sketchy, this might be more a novelty than anything.

I just need a demo. I'm all about supporting indie game development, but Rag Doll Kung Fu looks so outthere (and dare I say, unwieldy?) that I'm gonna need some sort of try before I buy.

$12.50 doesn't sound like a lot of money for 1 mans hard work and love to me.

I have no idea how easy it is to pick up and play but from what I've seen in the video demonstrations, you can pull of some spectacular moves once you've mastered it.

Playing this over the net with my buddies will be a gas, as to "mod quality": Red Orchestra anyone? Alien Swarm? Counter-Strike? Day Of Defeat? Garry's Mod? Desert Combat? (You can see where I'm going).

I can't believe I'm actually going to pay for a mod.
But, I have to admit, it looks really, really good.

I think i'll save my money for SiN: Episodes, or HL2: Aftermath. Which ever comes out first.

I think you're mistaken... there's no demo.

I think $12.95, is a great price. im a bit sketchy without having played a demo, but if this game doesnt work out who care, its not like i forked over $40 for a game that ended up being terrible, i know ive done that before.

So is this what Steam has brought us? The end of free mods?
What are you, stupid? This is no mod.

Who are the fucktards who think this is a mod, and what exactly do they think its a mod of?
Definitely worth a tenner or whatever it is in real money.

Seriously. Go to the goddamn site so you at least know what you're talking about first.

Mod is short for "Modification"

Mods are modifications of original games.

Day of Defeat is a Mod

So what exactly is RDKF a "Mod" of?

Have also got the demo finished (apart from the graphics for the nag screens when you quit).http://personal.lionhead.com/mhealey/progress.html

I admit that I had not read the site before hand. I simply thought it was a mod because others in the thread said it was. I'm tired and I promise that it won't happen again!

I like standardized price point. Allowing each party to set the price on the basis of merit, I mean honestly how would it be done properly? 1, perhaps 2 price points would make this much less whimsical.

$12.95, a sweet deal to the consumer and the developer. Everybody's happy. I would buy aftermath, alien infested and sin episode at the same time at that price without a single hiccup.

I never said it was a mod, I was making a reply to a previous post that accused Rag Doll Kung Fu of being "mod quality", I was pointing out that mods can be of a very high quality.

Sorry if I confused anyone :)

I just dont get the gameplay.
The style is cool and the gfx good, but it looks like a physics toy where you grab elastic limbs and let go to do spring moves.
Issue is there does not look to be any determinism in it, so your results are basically random. How are you supposed to be effective?
Hence I conclude physics toy.
Well theres flash animations that are physics toys out there for free, crap graphics for sure, but hey.
The couple that come to mind are the Stair Dismount
and the Motocross Flash game
Sorry I dont have links.

Am I missing something in gameplay?

Yes. Everything.
Its not random at all.
