IGN has a new Kameo preview up. (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/651/651451p1.html)
Gamespot has one up also. (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/kameoelementsofpower/preview_6133451.html)
The Gamespot one mentions Co-op play, and that sounds good to me!

This is the first I've heard of co-op play. I imagine this is something that is being tossed around to make the features list look more impressive for PR and will quietly be dropped later. However, if it stays in, I will be very happy. Co-op platform/adveture game is something I've been waiting for ever since the flawed-but-still-fun Cookies & Cream. Why developers have apparently decided that only Dungeon Crawls and FPS are good for this type of gaming is beyond me. If this feature does stay and isn't half assed in implementation, Kameo has just become my first definite purchase for my 360.

this seems like it'll be a less-violent/sexually explicity god of war with (possibly online) co-op and a character that can transform. I pre-ordered one, but I may cancel if closer to launch previews start to slide into the negative.

So how exactly is it like God of War then? I guess both of them involve going places and hitting things but I don't see much connection other than that.

just the way the gameplay videos look, the way you fight, and the types of puzzles remind me of god of war, but maybe thats because im in the middle of playing it right now....?

The wall-climbing yeti-type-thing climbed the wall just like Kratos did, but that's the only thing I really saw that looked similar.
I wonder if the co-op will be with a fully-fledged second character? Two fully transforming characters would be cool, but could the hardware handle that? And would it jive with the storyline? I bet the co-op character is more like the little helper fairy from zelda, or at least a more limited character. Hope I'm wrong...

DriveALW, I agree that given how it has never been mentioned before, the co-op might be some sort of Tingle-like implementation, but it is also listed as system link co-op. It would be pretty retarded to have an option to have an entire system and TV just for a just to play a little minigame on. As for storyline, the only thing you'd really have to do is pluralize everything. Instead of a "chosen one" there are "chosen twins" :)

The game has come a long way graphically and it looks pretty awesome now. The best way to have co-op is via online. Sharing a tv generally leads to a poor viewpoint or bad cameras. System link ubnfortunately isn't an option that would be used by more than 7-8% (i'm guessing) of gamers. I don't know too many people who have a setup with an extra tv lying around to make this fun.
I hope it stays in and I give Kudos to Rare. They have changed my opinion of the game and I am planning on buying it now.

"Kameo, this is your secret twin sister, Broach. Make with the world-saving, quick-like now."
I'm still interested though. There's been a shortage of interesting platformers recently, and five years of polish never hurts.

Yes, yes it has. Many times. Often the technology surpasses the game so much that not only are the creative ideas behind them already done, but the games even turn out to look like crap because they were built for old hardware.
Don't get me wrong, I would still like to play Kameo, but long development times are hardly ever a good thing.

Its different for Kameo. There are already videos showing how beautiful the game looks.
If you want to worry about a game with long development time, do it for Duke Nukem Forever. :D

Kameo has been across MANY systems too. First the N64, then the Cube, then the Xbox, now the 360. The game may indeed be great, but such a sordid development history can have a lot of negative impact.

Reminds me of Malice in that regard. You know, the girl with the clockwork hammer, was supposed to be the giant platformer for the XBox (along with Blinx). It was released several years late and no one even noticed, due to extreme crappiness.
Hopefully Kameo has escaped a similar fate, but if history is any guide, never assume that an XBox platformer will be successful.

Good point. Outside of Psychonauts I don't think the Xbox got even ONE good platform, and Psychonauts wasn't even exclusive.
There was Munch's Oddysee I suppose, that was a good game.

I saw some videos recently and i'll probibally pick this one up, because it looks unique, and i like Rare's previous platformers, i loved Conker: Live and Reloaded, and ofcource their N64 entries like banjo kazooie, and i hope they prosper in this comming generation, if for no other reason then being brave and trying something new with Kameo.

While I admit the Xbox hasn't been a platforming mecca, neither has any other system this generation, really. Outside of Sony's big three (Sly, Jax & Daxter and Rachet & Clank), there isn't too much to write home about there, and Nintendo just has Sunshine, Wario, and a few multi-platform odds and ends.
I thought Vexx was actually pretty good for the Xbox (though it was cross platform the Xbox game was the playable one). Also Voodoo Vince was pretty cool, but really the soundtrack was the best thing about it.

What exactly is new in Kameo though? There have been several, several other games that allowed you to take on different forms.
EternalGamer has a good point. This whole past gen was pretty poor for platformers. Mario Sunshine was an especially big disappointment to me.
